RedSkyWV I use Adam's VRT for interior EVERYTHING other than the leather.
I am not an Adam's nut, but I use a lot of their products...

I wash with Meguiar's Hyper Wash (cheap and effective).

I currently have a mix of Adam's and Menzerna polishes (heavy, medium, fine), all of which I apply with a Flex and the appropriate pads.

For sealant I use Wolgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0 on my Sky, but I prefer Menzerna Power-Lock on my Evo (the Wolfgang seems to make the Chili Red pop, but doesn't do anything for the Octane Blue), vice versa with the Menzerna.

For wax I use Chemical Guys 5050.

For the rims I use Adams Metal Polish 1 and 2, for touchups I use just #2 on the flapper attachment on my cordless drill.

Tires I tend to use VRT, but if you like shiny tires use something else.

Under the hood I clean with Adam's All Purpose Cleaner and a hose (NOT the pressure washer), then shine with some Meguiar's Hyper Dressing cut down a bit. You can use the Meg's HD on your tires for a shiny look too if you want.

I don't consider myself a pro, but I believe I do a good job. Hope that helps!

zappafan Thanks ya'll for all the advice. One more question. Interior detailing. I don't like the shiny amourall type stuff, collects to much dust. So what do ya'll suggest?

Devlyn I hear ya, we get a lot of dust here in vegas. I normally will only clay bar every other month or so.

timlange3 I use Meguiar's car wash soap. Then clay bar if necessary. Then Meguiar's wax. I use Meguiar's Quick Detailer with a microfiber cloth after every drive if it is just dust. If there is a lot of dirt, then wash and wax again. Car gets just about as much dust sitting in the garage in a week as it does during an all day drive in the country.

Devlyn My car club/team is sponsored by meguiars, so I primarily use their products. But I'll use the gold class wash and finish with the NXT wax. Inbetween washings I'll use the Ultimate quick detailer and wipe it down.

James_Bond I used to do all my own detailing with Zaino, but with lack of time these days, i hire a classic car show detailer, he uses his own products to clean the paint and polish, then uses my Zaino to protect.

dipolley For general cleaning and quick detailing I use Adam's Waterless Wash and Detail Spray. For protection, Adam's Quick Sealent and/or Americana caranuba wax is what I use. Of course I am biased on my car care products.

Never ever use a car wash with the rotating slappy washers or with the brush at the hand car wash. This will just create swirls and scratches on your finish. Use a 2-bucket wash to keep your finish looking perfect.

JohnWR I am not a fanatic. I use Simple Green car wash solution in a Mr Clean dispenser to wash mine when it gets dirty. A friend is a professional detailer, and he has gone over it twice, in five years. I am about to have him do it again this spring.

If you want to find a good detailer go to a classic car show or a concours and talk to some local owners. Guys that own mid-six-figure cars know who is good, and who isn't, and they compare notes.

TonyRedline I do all my own wash/wax/detailing on the weekends...Then during the week I stop at a killer car wash 2 ta 3 times for a spray down. 4 bucks for 10 minutes and it has a great blow dryer as well...Like to keep it clean as possible for a dd.

Detailer or wash and wax

I am new to the whole detailing idea. I see alot of jacklegs who call themselves detailers. I have watched all the Adams video's and so on. I live in the Mississippi Delta so lots of sunlight. I just washed my new to me sky'rl with my sons turtle wax carwash and used his Meguiars detailer. So which would give me a better overall coverage detailer or wash/wax? Any help or ideas would be appreciated.
