Good Evening: Someone asked a couple of questions this week I thought I'd address publicly. One pertained whether NASSAM participants were getting special discounts. Well, we do hope to get some response from some folks that may be able to help us out in that regard, but no promises. The hotel room rates are discounted by about $30 per night. Remember, we are a small group relatively speaking, consequently businesses in the area have been very friendly, but they have plenty of business during the time frame we're there. Others have asked about vendors, likely there will not be any on site. Most of the historical vendors are still supporting with donations for the auctions, but it has become expensive for them to travel with relatively a lesser amount of business from the Kappa community as compared to newer cars. This is an event to catch up with old friends and see a part of the country perhaps you've never visited, we hope that a good time will be had by all. We have our meet and greet Monday, Poker Walk Tuesday, Ice Cream Social and group photo Wednesday, car show Thursday and a banquet Friday with drives every day. Hopefully you'll be busy.

Received an email asking whether there was an ongoing mailing list from year to year for NASSAM. There is not, each year there is a different team of folks who set up the events. Typically, there will be a Facebook page and to a lesser extent sometimes the forums are kept up to date. Each year there is also a unique website. Here are the links for this year:

Good Morning: There are rooms available for a couple more days. When you click on the link to the hotel reservations page, you initially get a message that there are no rooms available. But you mush put in your dates and then refresh the page. I also sent you an email on the subject. We will refund your registration if you choose not to attend. Apologies for any confusion. The South Dakota Department of Transportation says beginning June 6, 2022, through July 1, 2022, the eastbound Interstate 90 ramp at exit 59 will be closed.

You can take Eglin down to North street, left at the light and get on the eastbound highway.
You may want to plan accordingly.
Gas at the nearby Sam's Club, on Eglin, is currently at $4.63 a gallon and one of the lowest prices in the area.

Given the location for parking at the hotel, the simplest way to get to the eastbound entrance is from East Mall Drive to the North Street I-90 eastbound entrance. The one event that uses eastbound I-90 is the group photograph. Directions to the Air and Space Museum will be available in the registration room. See you soon.

I’m struggling enough on how we’re going to bring all of our luggage and essentials and we’re staying in hotels there and along the way. How are you getting camping gear in there? Are you trailering in?

Arriving Tuesday is not a problem. The registration room is open each day from 7 AM to 3 PM. On Tuesday we'll be heading to Deadwood

There is no problem with coming in on Tuesday. Please just keep in mind that the registration room is open from 7 AM to 3 PM and then again from 8 PM to 9 PM that day. Or you can check in Wednesday at 7 AM. The poker walk in Deadwood is Tuesday evening, thus the late hours that day.

As for the E85 gas, I'm afraid I didn't go looking for that. Each goodie bag has information on local pharmacies, hospitals, etc. and gas stations...but I didn't check on the E85. I'll have to check around when we get there next week.

I'll try to figure that out and let folks know.
