Grangeville is located in north central Idaho. The community is considered the gateway to five wilderness areas and four national forests totaling 5 1/2 million acres. The total is second only to Alaska in designated wilderness area.

In 1980, the northwest face of Mount St. Helens exploded outward, destroying a large part of the top of the volcano. It deposited over an inch of volcanic ash through-out the inland northwest. The ash was found in ditches along eastern Washington's back roads for over a decade later.

The Lewis and Clark Highway (US Hwy. 12) is the shortest route from the midwest to the Pacific Coast and the longest highway within a national forest in the nation.

We'll be driving a portion of this highway on our Saturday cruise!
Those coming in from eastern Canada or Montana or even Colorado should consider coming in on Hwy 12 from Missoula, Montana for a very enjoyable and scenic drive.
Over 100 miles of cruising along the Lochsa & Clearwater Rivers!

We're getting close to filling up the current batch of Hotel reservations. There seems to be only 3 left from our original set aside batch.
I will contact the hotel tomorrow and see if I can add another 5 or more.
Please make your hotel reservations as soon as possible. We only have until June 20th to secure the rooms before they will no longer honor our group rate any longer.

Also those not currently registered with Paid reservations for the runs & banquet need to be sure to send in your reservation Paypal or check payments! Thanks and we're almost 2 months away from a great weekend of Fun!! Can't wait to see you for these runs!

We are close to 30+ cars on the list, Can we get to 35-40?

Thanks to Rob the Elder for this one:thumbs:

The Cascade Tunnel refers to two tunnels at Stevens Pass through the Cascade Mountains, approximately 65 miles (105 km) to the east of Everett, Washington. The first Cascade Tunnel was a 2.63-mile (4.2 km) long single track railroad, built by the Great Northern Railway in 1900 to avoid problems caused by heavy winter snowfalls on the original line that had eight Zig Zags (switchbacks). The second tunnel, a 7.79-mile (12.5 km) single-track replacement of the earlier tunnel, was put in service on January 12, 1929 and is still in operation, connecting Berne in Chelan County on its east with Scenic Hot Springs in King County on its west. It is the longest railroad tunnel in the United States.

FUN FACTS for your journey to Regionals this year!
The Seven Devil's Peaks in western central Idaho, are one of the highest mountain ranges in Idaho, includes Heaven's Gate Lookout, where sightseers can look into four states.
(Only problem is the road to access Heaven's Gate should only be accessed with an off-road vehicle, NO Kappa's Here!). Best viewing of the Seven Devil's Peaks is from the top of the White Bird Grade along Hwy. 95 if you want to keep the dirt and rock chips off your Kappa's!

Lewiston & Clarkston are located at the confluence of the Snake and Clearwater Rivers. The elevation is 738 feet above sea level.
On our Friday morning Rattlesnake Grade run we will travel over Rattlesnake Summit at 3965 feet only 30 miles south of Clarkston.

Coming in on Hwy 195 S. from Spokane, WA stop by and visit Steptoe Butte.
It appears as almost an extinct volcano against the lush rolling hills of the Palouse in Eastern Washington. You can drive the spiral access road to the top of the 3612' Butte for a 360 degree view of Northern Idaho and Eastern Washington.

We're closing in on 40 cars registered! That's great! Any More?
Be sure to get your hotel reservations in by the June 20th group rate Cut-off Date!
They only had a couple more rooms available on the side with the Snake River view, But still have rooms available at the group rate! Remember there is a free full breakfast with each night's room rate.

It's getting closer! Be sure to get your Meet Registration payments in, so we can get an accurate head count for the Awards Banquet on Saturday night!

We're now about 10 days out from the Hotel Cut-Off Date for getting your rooms at the Meet Group Rate. Be sure to make your hotel reservations and send in your Meet registration payments to ensure your place at the Banquet. We need to give the hotel a head count to reserve the banquet room seating volume we'll need.
Thanks to those who have already registered!!
Almost 40 cars and still counting!
Only 6 weeks until the Big Event weekend.

Appropriately named the "Gem State", Idaho produces 72 types of precious and semiprecious stones, some of which can be found nowhere else in the world.
