SAVE THE DATE (Thursday, August 18th, 2022) for the 17th Annual Kappas on Woodward Cruise. Meet and Greet (in the Cranbrook Kingswood parking lot at 39221 Woodward Ave., at 6 p.m. and at 7 p.m. we will begin cruising down Woodward Avenue together to our usual parking lot at the Huntington Professional Buildings south of 11 Mile Road at 26711-26789 Woodward, Huntington Woods, MI to show off our cars and view the Dream Cruise. Bathrooms available at Cranbrook.

The Michigan Kappa Club Detroit Dream Cruise Event is always held the 3rd Thursday of August in order to avoid the craziness of the of the official day of the 3rd Saturday of August.

Cranbrook is a private preparatory school accessed off Woodward. Stop at the guard station and let them know that you are with the Michigan Kappa Club, then look for the Kingswood parking lot. The group usually makes a bathroom break before leaving. Plan to spend around 3 hours at this event. Taking pictures and videos is highly recommended.

Is an Ohio Buckeye allowed to join in the event, even if we are not a member of the Michigan Kappa Club?

For those of us out of town or otherwise unable to make it on the 18th:
Is anyone doing anything kappa-wise on the weekend?

Last reminder. Weather wise it's looking sunny today with temps in the low 80s today. This afternoon it turns partly cloudy, so some may want to bring a hoodie along. But it is predicted to remain dry all night. Please refer to the original post for the times & address. Be aware that Cranbrook School is 319 acres, and the drive up to the guard station is about an 1/8 of a mile long, and the distance to the Kingsford Parking Lot is around another 1/8 of a mile long. There may or may not be a sign, but you should be able to see enough Kappas parked together to know that you found the Kingsford Parking lot.

Woodward is a four lane road (in both south and north directions), and the group always drives in the 2nd and 3rd lanes. The leader initially sits at green lights in order to try and keep everyone together. But as the group progresses down Woodward the group does become fractured due to all the traffic lights (and traffic), but everyone does come back together again at the Huntington Professional Building parking lot. Some people leave quickly, others hang out for about an hour and talk about their cars or watch cars coming and going down Woodward. Have fun & drive safe.
