Does anyone know if the air intake is an option or does it come standard on all SKYs?

When would you be able to feel any better performance if you had this option?

Do a search for CAI and read to your heart's content. There's a ton of info. Check out the Sky Performance Section.

If you are refering to the Cold Air Injection, it is an option. There are several different types along with shorty headers, dual CAT back exhaust systems. There seems to be a growing after market going for the Sky.

Just to be explicitly clear: ALL SKYs come with an air intake. The "stock" variety is a plastic thing that draws air from alongide the block. There an optional "Cold Air Intake" or "CAI" that draws cold air from ahead of the radiator. The part retails for $295, and you can install it yourself and have your dealer do it for you. They shouldn't charge more than about $100 or so to install it, so if they charge you in excess of $500 for it then I think you're probably paying too much. Buy it on-line for $295, and do it yourself or pay a mechanically-inclined buddy a six-pack to do it for you. It comes with all the instructions you need.

So, when you get your SKY - YES! It will come with an air intake. The throatier-sounding CAI can be purchased as an option and installed by the dealer or by you.
