As I reported last night, we drove by our Dealership to see, if by chance, our SKY had been delivered. Since it was Easter and the Dealership was closed for the holiday, we did not expect to see her, but there she was covered in dust and dirt. She was delivered by the Carrier at 9:00pm on Sunday night and we got there about 9:20pm. We just missed her coming off the car carrier. We have named her "Pearl". She was beautiful!
Took two poor pictures with my cell phone, drooled on her for about twenty minutes and went home to try to get some sleep!!! Didn't get too much!!!
Got to the Dealership before anyone else. Do you think I was excited? Kyle, our Service Advisor, showed up and did not see the SKY parked out front but found the Delivery Info inside and came right back out and saw us and the SKY at the same time. Surprise, Surprise!! He got the Mechanics working on the PDI right away, they let me watch and take pics and next was the wash and detail by Jose. He showed me how to use "Clay". It is easier to do that I thought it was and made such a difference in how smooth the paint was. He did an awesome job. WOW!!
She was then moved into the Launch Room (didn't get the Saturn Party when we bought our first Saturn). Rey, our Salesman, gave a great speech about how I knew more than most of them (Thank You to all of you on SkyRoadster for all the valuable info that you have shared). He also made a remark that probably most of them knew me or had seen me around the Dealership in the last few weeks. I guess I did spend a fair amount amount of time there, mostly drive by's to see if she had shown up! Hopefully, I won't have to spend any more time there except for scheduled maintanence. Everything is perfect and working. I did offer to come back on a Saturday for them to show her to other other prospective buyers. They do not have a demo.
At 2:32pm we pulled out of the Launch Room and the adventure began. The response from others on the road was just like what everyone has been experiencing. Thumb's up, horn honking, rubber necking, driving around it in parking lot's, comments from "is that the new SKY" to "great looking SKY". Even had our picture taken while driving down the road.
We drove her across the Sunshine Skyway Bridge (how appropriate) and stopped for more pics. It was a beautiful day.
THANK YOU to everyone at Saturn of St Petersburg for eveything! Special thanks to Rey, Bob, Kyle, Mike & Steve and the Receptionist who let me use her computer to check my work e-mail since I called in and told my boss that would not be in today.
If anyone has any questions, let me know! Will post pics shortly!
