Beautiful car! Never to late to have fun and these things are just that, a lot of fun!
I had to take mine from my mom at 84 as her mental health was declining. She drove it for almost 13 years with me joking about taking it from her and it was a hard thing to do, take her independence..
It needed a lot of help but its been great therapy and gets more comments than anything I've owned 😁

Thanks for the text, I can imagine taking it from your Mom was tough, not only was she loosing her wheels, but realizing her life as she, knew it was changing forever. I am so blessed to have all of my faculties, and now enjoying the Saturn Sky.

Awesome! Slingshots are just silly. No one respects those things. lol.
the Sky, however, will start conversations and is so much fun.

The Slingshots are not to my taste either, but a friend that has one certainly does not agree.
Some would also classify the Sky as "silly" given its lack of utility.

After 16 years I still have people ask what my Sky is, tell me how much they like it, and ask where they can get one.

I have seen that criticism of many sports cars over the years, but always by people that are missing the point. Sports cars aren't for hauling crap, they are for delighting people who travel in them. Any creature comforts or luggage space a given sports car may have is a bonus!

I grant you that GM did a notably poor job of offering luggage space compared to many other sports cars, particularly on the convertibles (the coupe is quite a bit better) but space wasn't their prime mandate when designing the cars - fun was. I think they nailed that part of it.

Some sports cars have next to zero space for anything - Lotus 7, Bugeye Sprite - but both make you laugh out loud when driving them and that fulfills their purpose.

Congrats! Gives me hope that I might still be able to drive it 40 years from now on.... Need to watch my calories though!

There was a time when ppl are understands and willing to have multiple cars for specific purposes. Hence we have 2-seater sports car with primary purposes as posted above. These days folks want a "do-it all" vehicle. It's all about 0-60 and max grip numbers. Hence you see the rise of these weird oddly shaped "coupe" SUVs or AWD monster sedans with a billion hp. Very little is paid to handling finesse or the joy of driving. And with gas prices these days, how many can afford to "simply cruise" for the sake of pleasure.
