Ahh the bait and switch or is it the get them in the store somehow approach. Just try to buy one. Look at how many are on this web waiting unpatiently for their Sky. Talk is cheap, show me the Sky!:D
Autotrader Results

Well, I was curious so I tried the Autotrader site. There are NO Skys availible within 200 miles of my area. Yet I know of several Skys that have already landed within the same area.

Yeah, we have seen this since day 1... its not to say they are lying or anything, its just that these dealers probably don't actually have Sky inventory in stock. Many are inviting offers to buy (sometimes at above MSRP). I'm sure there are unaccounted for ones out there, but as #2 said: its more of a bait and switch tactic just to get you in to talk to them about placing an order.
Agree

Yes I would agree with that common tactic
I have contacted numerous ones and none actually have a Sky, but they will take you order for Skys with tons of dealer add-ons attached to that MSRP price.

No thank you and frankly with how a lot of dealers are acting this may be the last hot car GM has on their hands because people will get fed up with it and start looking at alternatives.
I have seen those same ads. If you look close they all list the"MSRP" price but none say they will sell at that price. :nono: Some dealers are not calling it "markup". They just list a series of "dealer add-ons". Our local dealer's add-ons come to over $2K for what I call gimmick items such as a paint protection package, interior protection, security, etc. That's why I would not buy locally. However there are plenty of people waiting in line willing to pay the premium. I was not one of them.
Scammers!
I can not say if the Skys on Auto trader actually exist or not, but I can say with certainty that the local dealers in my area are getting in Skys that are not spoken for. I was offered 5 of them in the past month from 4 different dealers. Just yesterday a dealer (where I purchased my Sky from) called to inform me that the truck just pulled up with an available fully optioned white Sky aboard. I forced myself to refrain from going to see it because the temptation to buy another might have been too much to resist!!

Thus the reason they called you first!
Just a comment to Way2Fast: Maybe it would work if we called all the local dealers (within driving distance) and get our names on their list for arriving unsold Skys. I know at least two central florida dealers that have one or more Skys arriving in the next two or three weeks that are not sold. They never seem to look at the list of deposits or ordered vehicles to see if the unsold Sky matches any of their current deposit orders.

:agree: :agree: :agree: This is SO true! For the life of me, I can't understand why dealers would ignore their own list of custom orders to see if a 'dealer stock' Sky matches that of somebody waiting?!? :banghead: Yet they would have no problem selling it to the first person that walked in off the street. Makes no sense to me.

If they did that, they would loose the sale on the one that wasn't custom ordered by selling it to someone who already had a deposit on one like it. They can sell 2 cars by ignoring the custom order list. One to someone just off the street and the other to the poor slob who has a deposit and is patiently waiting for his car to arrive.
