Ahh the bait and switch or is it the get them in the store somehow approach. Just try to buy one. Look at how many are on this web waiting unpatiently for their Sky. Talk is cheap, show me the Sky!skybeam said:

Yeah, we have seen this since day 1... its not to say they are lying or anything, its just that these dealers probably don't actually have Sky inventory in stock. Many are inviting offers to buy (sometimes at above MSRP). I'm sure there are unaccounted for ones out there, but as #2 said: its more of a bait and switch tactic just to get you in to talk to them about placing an order.skybeam said:Someone brought up a good point.......if these cars are so rare......and tought to come by.....why can you go on autotrader and many dealers will have 3 to 5 sky available at msrp......
Yes I would agree with that common tacticSunneySky said:Ahh the bait and switch or is it the get them in the store somehow approach. Just try to buy one. Look at how many are on this web waiting unpatiently for their Sky. Talk is cheap, show me the Sky!![]()
Thus the reason they called you first!:lol:Way2Fast said:I can not say if the Skys on Auto trader actually exist or not, but I can say with certainty that the local dealers in my area are getting in Skys that are not spoken for. I was offered 5 of them in the past month from 4 different dealers. Just yesterday a dealer (where I purchased my Sky from) called to inform me that the truck just pulled up with an available fully optioned white Sky aboard. I forced myself to refrain from going to see it because the temptation to buy another might have been too much to resist!!
:agree: :agree: :agree: This is SO true! For the life of me, I can't understand why dealers would ignore their own list of custom orders to see if a 'dealer stock' Sky matches that of somebody waiting?!?longwaitlarry said:Just a comment to Way2Fast: Maybe it would work if we called all the local dealers (within driving distance) and get our names on their list for arriving unsold Skys. I know at least two central florida dealers that have one or more Skys arriving in the next two or three weeks that are not sold. They never seem to look at the list of deposits or ordered vehicles to see if the unsold Sky matches any of their current deposit orders.
If they did that, they would loose the sale on the one that wasn't custom ordered by selling it to someone who already had a deposit on one like it. They can sell 2 cars by ignoring the custom order list. One to someone just off the street and the other to the poor slob who has a deposit and is patiently waiting for his car to arrive.nscrbug said::agree: :agree: :agree: This is SO true! Makes no sense to me.
