Hey all. After stopping my search I’m back at it. I’ve found a sweet looking( online anyway) 08 base for under 10k. Has just over 55000 miles. Going to look at it Saturday. Hope to join the club then. Any feedback would be awesome. Thx

In February I bought an 08 Redline with 57k mi for 9800. I would expect a base to be a little cheaper, but maybe prices are higher in your region.

10K is a lot for a 12 year old car, but it could very well be worth it. But if you pay that for the car be sure your insurance will cover it for that or by claimed value insurance.

We are own worst enemies on the value of the car. We continuously tell people they aren't worth what others are asking.

I would look at a Redline before you make a final decision though. I have both, buying the Redline first, if I had driven the NA first, in honestly, I don't think I would have bought one. Now I have four of the darned things.

Good luck on your search.

When I was looking at getting a Saturn Sky over two months I found that the prices vary a ton. I have seen the same range of miles Saturn Sky Base Silver Paint at 60k miles go for 8,000 dollars and in another state same car for 13,000 dollars. My guess is some dealers believe the car is a collectible.

My recommendation is to do an inspection of the car before considering the value. A Redline popped up in North Carolina and I got so excited. Had a yellow paint job and the pics looked great. Went to the dealership and found the interior was wrecked. Seat bolts were rusted, nothing shut correctly, under the body at the front, driver's side and passenger's sider fenders were crushed. I was put off by the car. Found my currently owned Redline for same price in New Jersey with aftermarket sound system, half the miles, and single owner who had it garage kept with a carfax history of all work done on it every 3k miles.

Sometimes it just takes luck and patience. If you are willing to drive and tow the car it might be worth considering. U-Haul charged $68 a day to rent solid floor car hauler to drive my car back. Was worth it to me.

I made up my mind early on I wanted a Redline or bust. +1 for Redline.

Thanks for the input. I think I am gonna back off. Redline is my preferred choice so I probably wouldn’t be happy with the base
