My dealer called my yesterday and said the demo they ordered is on the way. I am number 1 on their list and they told me that after they receive their second delivery of SKYs, the demo is mine to buy. It has everything I am looking for, execpt it has the spoiler, but I am no too keen about the demo issue. Any advice out there?

Thanks.

if you are #1 on thier list shouldnt the second delivery be yours anyway? is the dealer choosing the options on his whole allotment and wont let you order to specification?

If the dealer is letting everyone test drive it, I would be kinda angry over this deal. The demo at the dealers here is being test driven but is staying on the lot and not being sold.

The second delivery woudl be mine but it is an automatic and I want a manual. I can order but that means waiting longer. The dealer has been great so far, no markups, keeping me up to date, they are just giving me the option to buy this after they receive the second delivery or I can order and sit and wait.

That sounds like the perverbial rock and hard place. But as what has been said by a number of Sky fans get what you want, and the happier you'll be.

demo

I do not like the idea of purchasing a demo or even a car from a rental fleet that is now for sale. when i was younger and stupid I went 120 mph in a new car. you just don't know the history. If they were discounting it for being a demo that would be another story

To add to my frustration, what I really want is silver with leather black/red interior. The one coming in as a demo and then I would have the option to buy is silver with black leather. From what I have been reading, no one knows when orders will be taken for the black/red interior. Think I just may wait. Thanks.

Drop back in line. Tell him it isn't what you want. This should be a fun experience. You'll have to wait a while longer but your reading like you are not a happy camper. If he/she is a good dealer they will want a happy customer. Someone else will be more than happy to jump ahead in line. Let him offer the car to #2 and then #3 and so on until someone takes that car. You shouldn't loose your place in line.

I understand your frustration. All though it is a personal choice, I too was stuck with a major decision. My dealer called me yesterday to tell me I am the next image and to take my order. When I told him I wanted the red/black interior he advised me that they are not accepting any orders for that now. I could either get it with black, or wait until the fall for the red/black. After discussing it with my hubby, we decided to take the all black one. What ever you decide, Good luck to you and enjoy :D

If it is an issue of hot seats remember you can put on some slipcovers over your seats. Skip...

If your dealer is selling it at the "Demo Price" which is usually at least a thousand off, and it is close, then I would think about it. Had the dealer gone ahead and kept mine "hostage" as they were discussing instead of getting a demo car, and I found out people were pawing all over it and especially driving it, I would have demanded a "Demo Price!"
