at that price... I'll be driving to the States to pick up my car.

It's an absolutely retarded price

------ US PRICE -------
$23690 USD - 2007 Sky
+$195 USD - Limited Slip Diff
=$23885 USD

$31665 CAD / $23885 USD = 1.32573 exchange rate

Today's current buy price from the bank 1.1817

$23885USD * 1.1817 = $28225 CAD

So $31665 - $28225 = $3440

How much is saturn Canada screwing you? an extra $3440

That's worth a trip to anywhere in the US IMHO

I'm all ready driving from northern Saskatchewan to Regina 600 Km and the US border is only 500 km more thans quite the saving to drive an extra few miles.

The problem with this line of thinking is that when you price out the Soltace with the same options (OnStar, Power group, A/C, Limited Slip, etc), there is only a $300 difference Canadian between the Sky and a Soltace with the same equipment.

So what is he problem here?

Oh, only MSRPs are available.

What would the taxes be for buying a car in the US and then transfering country to Canada???

Anyone know if this is "official" or just speculation? I expected it to be about $34,000 fully loaded so I am still happy with it. If it was cheaper I would be even happier though!

I would imagine they would be substantial, not to mention the conversions necessary to comply with Canadian standards:) In Ontario I would think the GST and PST would come into play and that's 15%:banghead:

$195 at the border for inspection plus the usual 15% ontario taxes.

Since the car is offered in canada already, it is in compliance with canadian standards straight off the line. There would be no sense in making special cars just for canadians on the line.

Would the 15% be on top of the sales tax already charged by the state you buy in???

And even though a car is already made to spec for a certain area, if you import it in, there are duties to be paid... $195 is a great deal. :)

A vehicle imported from the U.S. that was manufactured in the U.S. is duty-free.

Visitors to the US can apply for tax exemption status. You'll pay 15% on top of what is written on your invoice.
