You need to leave some things alone mister, you are trying to find trouble LOL.
That is just a thought from Maverick......remember me, the guy you told to lay down and drink a beer last weekend and look how that turned out.

LOLOL, can't help it. I like to tinker but I know when to say when and let someone else risk breaking something.

If the kids these days can do upside down keg stands, then we gotta be able to figure out a way to drink our beer laying down! I guess I'll be the one to volunteer to take one for the team and try to clear that mystery this weekend, no matter how many beers it takes to figure out!!!!

And buy the way USMC I was a bartender and poured many upside down drinks in my day, but was never on the receiving end.
bartender!! we'd make the perfect team then. I was/is a drinker and have had many drinks poured for me in my day, always on the receiving end.

oh wait, that didn't come out right. :jester:

I was wondering what it looked like under that big ol hump but was afraid to start tearing stuff apart.

fortunately, A sol owner had No Fear--

Secrets of the Mayan Temple [trunk] Revealed!
That looks pretty cool but there is a chunk of Styrofoam on top of the gas tank hold that if removed looks like there might be a good deal more room to put things except that the glass lays down on that piece

You do realize this thread was over 15 yrs old right? I didn't notice any 'chunk of styrofoam' in that area. What those pics aren't showing is the charcoal canister & valve that are also mounted on top of fuel tank & under the hump....

My original 2007 preformed trunk carpet has a thin white cotton-like pad adhered to the underside of it, filling in the center oval area of the fuel tank, assumed to provide protection for the rear window when the top is stowed. I bought a new preformed carpet which did not include that thin pad so I transferred that pad over.
