I would not go by how many people you saw on a saturday, I am sure they are not working OT.:nono:

Last I heard, they are working one shift only. It appears GM is keeping Pontiac, so they will at least be producing Solstices for now.

Our Sky's are going to be super rare! :D

Wow. Here's hoping that the last of the Kappas isn't built on December 24, 2008.

Of course, 2900 Skys spread over 400 dealers is only 7 - 8 per dealer. However, they are not exactly flying off the lots this time of year. It will be interesting to see how many will be made in March after and if Boxwood resumes production.

No!

IMO they built the last Opel GT forever
.

They produced arround 7500 at all for Europe.

In germany actually, there are still close to 1000 Opel GT at the dealers (uses and new ones).

The market is feeded.

The new BMW Z4 is out in spring, so nobody want's a new Opel GT and there are tons of used...

Saw pictures of the new Z4. Nice job style-wise, loaded with features and power to bring it in line with Opel GT. Have not seen weight specs or performance numbers yet, but one thing I am sure of is that the price will be a lot more than I am willing to pay for a roadster. The Sky was already a stretch but I just had to have it and today I have absolutely no regrets.

I have to agree with your statement. If GM is not making money or even losing money on Kappas as has been rumored, they will all have to go away. That's a shame but at least the Kappas had a good run while it lasted.

In Germany we only have the redline as OPEL GT for 34.005 Euro !!!

Compare it to the BMW Z4 23i for 35.900 Euro

Add real! Leather (1350 Euro) and you have a car with 6 Cylinders,
close the Power of a Sky redline and much more comfort, look and feel, safety and it is a BMW :)

...of course the 3 liter and the biturbo are much more expensive.

Here the facts:

BMW Z4 23i 204 PS 6,6 Sekunden (0-100km/h, 0-62,5mi/h) 35.900 Euro
BMW Z4 30i 258 PS 5,8 Sekunden (0-100km/h, 0-62,5mi/h) 42.900 Euro
BMW Z4 35i 306 PS 5,2 Sekunden (0-100km/h, 0-62,5mi/h) 47.450 Euro

weight of the z4 is same like the redline...
