I had used Rain-X in the past and was very impressed by both its effectiveness and longevity. The last bottle I had lasted literally for years.

As I recall, it used to be a polymer compound that bonded well to the glass and lasted for many months. It used to be a clear liquid.

The Rain-X I picked up at the store a few weeks ago is labeled "Windshied WAX" (capitalization theirs) and looks just like liquid car wax... white... and acts like wax: after just a couple of weeks, water no longer beads up on my windshield.

I guess the old formula was so good and long lasting that they just couldn't sell enough of it.

Anybody have any alternatives?

I have the same experience with Rain-X, it only lasts like a week or two.

Eagle One Nanowax in the spray bottle. Even if you don't use it to wax your Sky, it works good on the glass. Water rolls off even without the windshield wipers.
