ya, I don't know. seems like it was annoying to alot of sol owners but I kinda tend to agree with you in that it is probably to much trouble to fix now. I don't quite understand why they left it off in the first place, seems like it would have been easy and cheap as the lock/unlock mechanism is already in the car if you got the power package. oh well, maybe some of our crafty members will want to give a shot.foolintherain76 said:I don't see why it is necessary. If a friend is getting in and the top is down, they can unlock the door. If the top is up, just hit your keychain...what's the big deal? Its nice not to have a billion buttons in my opinion. If the battery is dead in the keychain, reach over...its not like this is too far to reach either. Just not something I would complain about or lose any sleep over. "Yeah, I was gonna buy a Sky, but no door lock button...I guess I'll pass." It seems a little redundant now adays with the remote keyless entry. I don't think I've ever used my actual button in my 02 VUE. i just use the keychain.

but the s2000 has it. I know its a 35k car but it can be done. I thought your theory was a good one so when I get home tonight I'm going to lock myself in my Tacoma that has autolocks and an alarm and then press the unlock button and see what happens.SkyMan 07 said:I have a idea why it may have been left off. Because of the theft alarm, if you lock the car, and someone comes along when the top is down and pushes the door unlock button it may have turned off the alarm system, while if they pull the door lock knob up it would set off the alarm... just an opinion on my part though. that is a good reason not to attach the spare keyfob to the console, plus they could get into the trunk....
