I think Saturn should do a lottery somewhat like they did with the Solstice. But do it on a company bases not a TV show. Sorry I missed the show .So I became a loser. (Waiting since Detroit first showing of Solstice) But that was ok because I like the style of the Sky more. Like many of us that have been waiting in line, we will be the last on THE LIST after everyone takes his or her turn, dealers included. Many have given up the wait and bought other cars. So first lets base the lottery on things like, next in line, and Saturn LOYALTY. Sorry. Mr. Trump that will take more than 41 minutes. (No Disrespect Intended To A Good Man) PS. Also Saturn it seems the new Sky is on tour of some kind. Can you post dates and places to view the Sky and maybe sit in. So we don’t take up some ones place in line if the car don’t fit our needs.

The Solstice EOP was in no way organized by Trump. It was a promotional event put together by GM and they just happened to use the Apprentice as the place to air it. GM has officially stated they didn't expect the cars to all be gone in 42 minutes, they had expected at most 100 to go on the first day. Also if you kept in contact with your dealer or visited the Solsticeforum.com prior to the event happening we had all the information down to a T so that a person never had to watch the show to have a chance at getting an EOP car.

No,NO,NO 1000 times NO,
That Solstice deal wasn't a Lottery, it was who could get to the dealership and get them to get into the system first... like if you couldn't get off work in the mddle of the day you were S.O.L....
unless the ones that already have a deposit down can be assured to be one of the 1000 that will get theirs first.. It wouldn't really be fair For Saturn to be telling it's dealers and customers to get on a wait list then not stick to it, it would cost them more customers that it would get them in return.

Your position is absolutely correct. One other point to consider: There has been at least one thread on this forum addressing the issue of the marquee (sp?) value of the Saturn badge. It was pointed out by somebody that the value of the Saturn badge lies in the reputation of Saturn for honest and fair dealing and their record for excellent customer relations. Since I "discovered" the Kappa cars a number of months ago, and their respective forums, I have monitored both heavily. I believe that GM and Pontiac had the best intentions, consistent with their profit motive, to provide a unique buying experience that was equitable and fair to everyone. HOWEVER, from what I have observed via the Solstice forum, it is the most confused mishmash I have ever witnessed -- and I've been to three county fairs and two goat ropings. I mean, it is a mess. Nobody knows what's going on -- not the dealers and certainly not the customers. It would be a big mistake for Saturn to involve itself in anything like that.

Of course I want the Sky. If that's what they want to do I'll play along.

my dealership is doing everything that it can to keep me informed...if there is something that i need to know and they don't have the answer, they do make the effort of finding out. at this point i know as much as they know. and they only know what GM tells them. alot of uncertainty but at least they are not telling me this or that just to pacify me. they are being careful not to give the wrong info. i can honestly respect that.

My experience to date exactly, and I want it to stay that way.

There is one dealership that is doing a Lottery with 10 people who put up $500 NONREFUNDABLE deposit for the chance to get the 1st at that dealership.
I heard that the dealer would have some event or party for the lottery drawing... but NONREFUNDABLE at this time does not compute!
Keep it the Saturn Way.
