Hello. Bob I been here from the start since the Solstice hit Detroit. Great ideas, nice lines and a price that just might do it. But as you know everything comes with a price.
Maybe that’s why you started the sky program. You asked your design team to come up with the solstice in 15 weeks to hit the floor of the show. Well, to them I say job well done. I fell in love with the sky style instantly. I own a 94 sc2 Saturn great car, boss on gas mileage. But then someone fell asleep at the wheel with the sky. The forums are a great feedback from the grassroot customers, and like your employees is the success of a company. The sky lacks trunk space, stretch the frame, balance the 50/50 ratio and lets see design teem go back into the parts bin and grab one of the Opel engines like the one in the vxr220 I’m sure they would mind a little export here. And yes I will give you more than 15 weeks. After my entire wait like others will be over 2 years. Lets see if we can meet a new challenge for a first year production. The new Saturn Sky Sport Edition. Yes it even comes with a roomy trunk that not filled with a gas tank.

Bob's reply.

I think Bob would say if your worried about a trunk your not who this car is aimed at. While I would like more room to store stuff too, I figure it has twice the storage space as my 99 Honda VFR. I probably have different expectations & needs for the Sky than is the case for you, but for me the Sky is fine. Of course that is if it is as solid mechanically as it should be. I look at it as a four wheeled motorcycle. That's all I need and all I want.
In my humble opinion...The only 'cargo' capacity I think I'll ever need with this car is the passenger seat. The perfect place to put a nice hot bodied chick!

I'm a fat ugly bastard, and I don't think I'll need to do much convincing to pick up some girlies. :D

GM doesn't care why you want a Sky, just so you buy one. I guess that's as good a reason as any! :D

You just gave me a good idea for a poll. Folks here want a Sky. How badly? Would you still purchase a Sky with 1.4 CF of trunk room if the Solstice had a 5 CF trunk? Or would that cause you to buy a Solstice instead, for better practicality. An interesting question, to be sure. How much practicality are you willing to sacrifice for superior styling?

The fact we want a Sky or Solstice more or less answers that question. :D
I think the whole trunk space thing is ridiculous.

It's a frickin' SPORTS. ROADSTER. children!

God.

Would you bitch about cargo space when buying a bicycle too?

Chip is right-- if that's even a remote concern, then go buy something else. I wouldn't want GM to piss away the spirit if the car (size, proportion, etc...) that the true fans want just because some fractional percentage of "possible" buyers think being able to hide a dead body in the trunk would be a nice feature.
