If Saturn doesn't give us more info I think we should all have some kinda protest :banghead: . Perhaps we could all hold our breath   :brentil: or something.

Perhaps one of the mods could lead the way. :D

Well most of the info for the Solstice applies to the Sky, at least on a technical level. As far as release date and what not, I would not expect that info until right before it happens. You want to make sure everything is OK before you start press releases...
Well, what are you wanting info wise?

Besides official pricing and exact options we pretty much have everything there is to know about the car. Both of those you can pretty much figure out from the Solstice and the Sky PDF on the Saturn page. All of that information for the Solstice wasn't out till about 5 months before production started too. If the Sky goes on sale in Feb that would be around Oct maybe. Those items are also never released until they're officialy finalized, which can change who knows how many times along the way.
 I can't hold my breath that long. :D

I just with they would publish a list of events where the Sky is going to be.

If you look at the Events on the Saturn website it lists some events, and some of them mention if the Sky will be there or not. The car shows don't really start picking up till closer to the end of the year begining of next year. As it gets closer to events they'll update that info. They did last year.
:willy: I have word that a SKY will be on display at a dealer in Central Texas next month. Give me a few days to ensure I have the facts right and I will be sure and post it here. I don't want to post misinformation so as soon as I verify it you will have it. :willy:

I received word from my dealer on Friday that they will be hosting a ride and drive in November. They asked me to provide a special guest to the event. So, there will plenty pre-production cars available come November 2005, else they wouldn't be planning these events just yet. Remember, the "ride and drive" event are with cars that are produced off the assembly line with them being 99% true to production form.
Long, but worth reading... emails between Saturn and I (my next novel)

Copied and Pasted from me to Saturn.... please disregard ALL OF MY PERSONAL INFORMATION if I didn't clean it up everywhere....

Dear Ms. Sunday,

We appreciate the time you have taken to write to Saturn.

I have attempted to contact Dennis McCroskey and I am waiting to hear back from him.

Ms. Sunday, if your deposit check was just recently deposited and your name put on this facility's reservation list. It will take several weeks to receive any information that the facility orders to be sent out.

When I hear back from Dennis I will e-mail back to you.

If you have additional questions or comments, please feel welcome to either e-mail or call the Saturn Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-553-6000 option 3.

Thank you,

Hi Melanie...

I am working with Galpin Saturn (I think that's Saturn of the Valley). The Sales Manager is Dennis McCroskey and he has not responded to my emails, however, my conversations from the Tosca, the sales person have been filled with promises as such:

* My $500 check was supposed to be cashed yesterday
* The $500 deposit is supposed to be refundable (I did not see it documented
/ I'm not worried, I'm getting the car)
* No one mentioned a receipt
* I was told that I would be put on a "list" to customize my vehicle once
the check was cashed
* I was told that I was the 29th person on the list with a deposit in on a
car
* My car was coming in the first batch with the first allocation
* I will be able to start customizing my car at the end of October when they
go into production

These are a few of the things that I've been told but cannot get confirmation on in writing. I just figure, I haven't been this excited about anything since I gave birth 10 1/2 years ago. I had a horrible, horrible experience when I bought my last car on my own (Hyundai) and I just want to make sure that I am doing my due diligence this time.

I also understand that Saturn of the Valley, which is a part of Galpin is one of the leading dealerships in the nation. Your relationship with them must be strong and I understand you need to stand behind them as well.
Please let me know your thoughts.

Dear Ms. Sunday,

We appreciate the time you have taken to write to Saturn.

There is no general registration list for General Motors.

Saturn also does not have a registration list. When Saturn offers a new vehicle we usually do not take reservations for them.

Please e-mail back and let me know if you have been working with Saturn of The Valley or Saturn of Alhambra. I will then call the sales manager and see if they are sending out a special mailing to their customers.

If you have additional questions , please feel welcome to either e-mail or call the Saturn Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-553-6000 option 3.

Thank you,

Melanie,

I understand that the pre-registration is up to the facility, my questions is if there is not a general registration that you can do through the GM dealerships that would enable me to receive information regardless of putting a deposit down. As I mentioned, there are folks that are receiving information in the mail that I am not receiving. I was just wondering why I haven't. These folks are not necessarily putting deposits down, but rather just registering with GM through the dealer. That part of my questions was not addressed in the last email.

Dear Rachel,

We appreciate the time you have taken to write to Saturn.

It is really up to the individual facilities if they want to have a pre-production list for customers to enroll on or not.

Terry has already given you all of the information that is available at this time on the SKY. Saturn will be releasing more information as we get closer to production time.

Rachel, if you haven't already, you may want to visit the Saturn website and request a SKY brochure. Even though they are not available yet, you may receive one of the new SKY calendars.

Please feel welcome to either e-mail or call the Saturn Customer Assistance Center at 1-800-553-6000 option 3 if you have additional questions.

Thank you,

Good Morning Again-

I know I'm being a pain, but I have to ask you yet another question. I know you don't have anything to deal with the "pre-registration" at the individual dealerships that require the down payment for a vehicle, however, my understanding is that there are 2 types of registration.

The first and general registration is through GM, and according to the forum I belong to (skyroadster.com), there are a lot of folks receiving information in the mail. I haven't received anything. I called my dealership that I put a deposit down at (Galpin - Los Angeles) and they told me that because I post dated the check for today (from the dealership 2 weeks ago) that they did not put me on the list yet to receive a call but have my check for depositing. So essentially I'm not really pre-registered until today to receive a car, but couldn't they have registered me with the general GM one? They took a bunch of info down weeks and weeks ago and I haven't received anything. I want to be sure that I am being treated fairly and I question the integrity of the manager after speaking with him. Please advise.

Not quite sure, but, something sounds fishy...seems to me that they would still have put your name on the list when you gave them the check. The check should have let them know that you are serious about the car. If you don't have a receipt, please go and get one. That should have been the first thing they did. All he would have had to do was write the check info on it. Like I said, it sounds fishy.....but do go and get a receipt, if nothing else. Keep us posted.
I basically went through some of the same questions, tell your dealer to go to the website GMlaunch.com and enter your name and info on the saturn site for the sky you will then begin to recieve info...that is a Gm site but it is only for information, you will get a e-mail the same time your dealer does when you can go Order your Sky....
