GXP Engine Paper

I hope this posts ok. This is a schematic of the engine management system
of the GXP. It is from the "27th International Motor Symposium" in Vienna,
written by Dr Edward Groff of GM Powertrain.
Note the system uses a wide band O2 before cat and reg sensor after.
Has solenoid to control wastegate and dump valve for turbo. High pressure
fuel pump runs off 3 lobe eccentric on one of cams.
Note it says crank and cam are same as regular Ecotec BUT the cam timing
is set up special for a turbo- so hardware is same, but control software is not.

Jpg is attached with engine schematic.

I would be very supprised if the actually valves and valve springs remained identical between the two cars concidering the extra compression at full boost. Whenever i build a turbo engine there is almost always an increased springrate on the valves. But hey, if it works... it works..!!

They could be using "overkill" tolerances on the normal Ecotec to save money by only having one type of valve spring.
