Sorry it has taken awhile to get an update with the trip information out, but I had to go to Groton/New London, CT last week on business and work had to come before pleasure.:willy:

My wife and I are going to make a test run this weekend so this may change, and I will post it when we get back. But for now, here is the plan.

I thought we would start at 10 AM, meeting up at the Vereins Kirche (Community Church) on Main St. in Fredericksburg. It is approximately across from the Library, and I will find the street # this weekend. We will be leaving close to 10, but at the bottom you will see some URLs with information on the area and the Willow City Loop.

We will head north on 16 toward Llano, but will use the old Willow City Road instead of Ranch Road 1323. This just adds a bit more twists and turns to the drive. It leads us to Willow City at which point we will follow the Loop as normal. I can't remember whether we come out on 16 before or after the Bell Mountain Winery, and here is another reason for doing the test run. If we come out after it, we will proceed to Llano for some BBQ and then stop at the winery on the way back. If it is before it, we will visit the winery first, then on to Llano for BBQ. If it is close to where the Loop hits 16 we may stop there before heading to Llano, but I can't remember for sure where the Loop comes out. My grandfather ran a country store where 16 intersects with 1323 years ago (he died in 1968), and like any other native, I seem to miss the local tourist attractions. Actually I have made the Loop, but it was before it was the Loop. It was just the way to get to my uncle's ranch (also pasted on and the property didn't go to me - double darn:lol: Actually I think he had to sell it off before he died to pay for taxes.).

Either way we go, we should be done sometime in the early afternoon, so it should give most folks a good shot at making it home before it gets too late. If not, Fredericksburg has more B&Bs than just about any other town in Texas.

I will post updates, like the address for the Vereins Kirche, and when we hit the winery after the test run.

Thanks for your patience!:)
