OK a lot has been written about HP and how much extra the Redline will have and how some are waiting for it.

I'd like to know how much improvement on 0-60 the redline is expected to get over the current version of the Sky. Will 260 HP cut the time by half over 177HP? Is it just better passing power?

How will a smaller engine with more HP endure in the long run over a bigger engine will less HP?

0-60 times are reported for the Sky as 7.2s and the Sky RL as 5.5s so you're cutting off 1.7s from your time. Doubling HP does not double the speed or acceleration rate since the math involved in computing them is far more complex then a simple doubling. You have to take into account increasing drag as acceleration rate increases, quicker loss of traction due to te extra power, parasitic loss at higher speeds due to revolving parts, etc.

The smaller displacement is a method of lowering the compression ratio, which itself is a method of alowing an engine to handle forced induction much more safely compared to an engine with a high CR like our LE5 engines. The smaller displacement also helps increase fuel economy for situations like cruising when the car is not in full boost.
