Hi everyone. My name is Dan Ferraro. I have been looking around the internet and dealerships for several months now trying to find a decent old or new car to purchase. One reason is my beloved 95 Impala SS has been down for several years and I don't foresee getting it back on the road for another year. Another reason is I'm tired of driving my work truck. And the last reason is I want to purchase a car I can use to expand my business.
Now, I do not mean this post to be an advertisement for my business. I do own my own automotive performance shop and want to expand it. I have some equipment on the way which will broaden my horizons and I have been looking at several cars I think would have enough interest or already do; Corvette, SRT10, 87 Grand National, Supra, Silverado SS and a couple others.
I was browsing this morning and happened to stumble upon the "Sky" link. I have never heard of this car until today. I have read several threads, info sheets, spec sheets, opinions, wants, desires, etc of the members of this forum. I have to say I'm pretty excited to find a car like this at a very reeasonable price. I was shocked to see it's going to be a front engine/rear wheel drive set-up. Maybe GM is starting to listen to the public again. Gee, what an idea! Anyways, it's hard to tell if this car is available now, or will be in January? Is it coming with a turbo model or in the future? Lots of questions but I feel like I have enough info to say "I think I found it!".
A fun car to drive, great design, front engine/rear drive, convertible, great color options, etc. Wow! The question I have for all of you is this: is there already an after market for this car? Are there any vendors signed-up on this forum? (Because I didn't notice any if there are). Besides this being a great daily driver to get me from home to my shop each day and looking good doing it, should I actually consider tearing the stock intake, exhaust manifolds and exhaust off and designing/fabricating a performance cold air intake, headers, hi-flow converters and exhaust options of each?
Please let me know what you all think. Any info about becoming a vendor is also welcome.
I know later today I will be heading to the local Saturn dealer to find out more info and to see what is available.
Thanks.
