Shipping/handling/brokerage/duties sometimes are more than the actual part(s). Then have to deal with the really bad exchange rate. But need to pay to play. Can’t get the parts up here otherwise.

Yeah, but the point is that Canada Post charges a flat $5 no matter what the value is, for doing the customs clearance and collecting any taxes owed, rather than the UPS $30. And half the stuff coming by mail comes straight through without having to pay anything.

Shipping is what it is. Until I can deliver or pick up a parcel myself for cheaper, pretty much a monopoly.
CBI will hold my packages for free for months, so if I have 2 or more UPS shipments, I save at least $24 per shipment on brokerage fees alone, that more than covers my gas + toll to drive 2 hours each direction to pick up my packages, so the difference in shipping costs US vs Canada is money in my pocket.

If you're too far away, need something right away, or too busy; that's a completely different story...

This thread has been quiet. Any new Canadian Cars around?
Well not new ones, not sure how I missed this thread before especially after seven pages.

Speaking of a pain to get things to Canada it's gotten even worse with the border closing. I usually use Kuhn's storage on Portage in the falls in the US as they would charge $4 per package but can't get there now. Last thing I ordered a few months ago I had to get shipped to Canada but I made sure they shipped USPS. WIth Covid Canada Post didn't want to take any chances and they just dropped the package and ran. :)

USPS is good, cheap and reliable, though what Bon said is true - Canada Post is not delivering anything requiring a signature so you have to go PU at the post office - no big deal. I just had that with a case of wine (shipped within BC) and that's what the PO told me.

Things seem to get bogged down as soon as they arrive in Canada. I've had a package that arrived in Canada at the beginning of July according to the USPS tracking & CPC still hasn't delivered it. This is the second time this has happened.

I saw a Solstice GXP Coupe earlier this week in Langley, BC! It was silver. Look stock. I was in my wife's SUV so needless to say I'd come across creepy if I start waving and honking.

I don't recall ever seeing another coupe on the road in BC, except when I got together with another owner in N Van (there are two other coupes I know of here). I recall seeing one of only four yellow coupe in Canada out in Langley (unfortunately an auto) at a car show I went to. Just not that common here - 84 cars for Canada (of which only 46 are manual trans - sadly the one dark blue car sent here was an auto or I'd have bought it). Most of the cars went to the East - larger market.

I think I've seen 3 GXP coupes (all red) here in southern Ontario in the last year but they are still a bit of a rarity.
