Yeah, but the point is that Canada Post charges a flat $5 no matter what the value is, for doing the customs clearance and collecting any taxes owed, rather than the UPS $30. And half the stuff coming by mail comes straight through without having to pay anything.
CBI will hold my packages for free for months, so if I have 2 or more UPS shipments, I save at least $24 per shipment on brokerage fees alone, that more than covers my gas + toll to drive 2 hours each direction to pick up my packages, so the difference in shipping costs US vs Canada is money in my pocket.
If you're too far away, need something right away, or too busy; that's a completely different story...
Well not new ones, not sure how I missed this thread before especially after seven pages.
Speaking of a pain to get things to Canada it's gotten even worse with the border closing. I usually use Kuhn's storage on Portage in the falls in the US as they would charge $4 per package but can't get there now. Last thing I ordered a few months ago I had to get shipped to Canada but I made sure they shipped USPS. WIth Covid Canada Post didn't want to take any chances and they just dropped the package and ran.
USPS is good, cheap and reliable, though what Bon said is true - Canada Post is not delivering anything requiring a signature so you have to go PU at the post office - no big deal. I just had that with a case of wine (shipped within BC) and that's what the PO told me.
Things seem to get bogged down as soon as they arrive in Canada. I've had a package that arrived in Canada at the beginning of July according to the USPS tracking & CPC still hasn't delivered it. This is the second time this has happened.
I have been a member for 4 years now but recently have moved from Regina, Saskatchewan to Beaconsfield, Quebec and was wondering if there was any other members in this area and if there is a club of any sort in this area.
After a nine hour round trip to Ian Allan Motors (the only GM approved recall centre in the UK), I'm delighted to say the 'Service Airbag' message and warning light have been extinguished.
Just wanted to thank the folks involved, as well as the Skyroadster Forum members who worked so...
Anybody else on here from the UK?
I know of around nine Solstices, two Skys and two GTs here - any of you folks on here?
Maybe we could get a few together for a trip to Luton to see the VX Lightning someday...
Just wondering if anyone in Ontario is selling their Redline? Preference is a manual transmission and a stock vehicle. Please feel free to msg me if you have one or know anyone else in the province who does. I can also be reached by email at [email protected]
Thanks in advance....:)
