Have to say that our cars are so beautiful that they standout to much on the road....
Following traffic at 77MPH same speeds as others and I get (singled out) pulled over for a speeding ticket.... $279.00
While writing speeding ticket the Highway Patrol (The kid) decides to issue another one, for my tinted rear tail lights... $140.00
Then give me a warning on my license plate cover and on my RPi exhaust pipes. The kid said that my exhaust system were not legal.... :banghead:
What a joke, where do we get these kids from!!!

State police are revenue agents not real cops. They don't care about public safety only collecting revenue. Ask any real cop ( I am related to several ) they will tell you they are not real cops. I would support a bounty on them. They are the lowest life form on earth.

Well that might explain why State cops act the way they do.

while I agree that a lot of a State Police officers life is spent gathering money for the state government, at least here in the mountains, they also save a lot of lives. I have seen them out in the middle of a major blizzard in their 2 wheel driver cars cruising looking for lumps in the snow that might be a family buried in a drift and helping to dig them out and get to safety.

My personal experience is that in any enforcement organization run by a government some percentage are there because they have a tiny PP complex and want to be in charge all the time. But the majority are just doing a job that is stressful and generally demanding both in time and physical effort. And always carries some element of risk to them personally.

One of these can be your friend!!:yesnod:
Escort Radar Detectors & Laser Detectors - The Radar and Laser Experts - Escort Inc.

My last ticket was over on that coast many any moons ago... Just as I went thru the curve approaching the last Naples exit heading south before the alley...
Trooper on the bridge with half dozen of his pals waiting for us out of site around the curve... That was the last time they got me even with my escort active...(it's the only way they can catch this cat)... They gotta cheat AND they have to do it "radar-less"...:skep:

PS: Get a lawyer to fix it fer ya... as far as the tail lights which law did he use to ticket you? that looks to be beatable if it does not interfere with its operation, sounds like you picked one jealous SOB...

I agree with this. My experience has been generally positive. While most of the time I am looking out for them:skep:, I am sure I will be glad they are around when I need them.

Sorry to hear that MARVIC 1! :grouphug:

But I have a great story. In Virginia, it is ILLEGAL to use radar detectors. So, as I was coming back from Williamsburg a few weeks ago, I found this guy from New Jersey to shadow. He stayed in the left lane and I stayed staggered behind him in the right lane. The cop comes flying up behind him with lights flashing and he looks over at me and looks back over at him and pulls him over. Because I wasn't directly behind him or beside him, he didn't have me on radar or laser. I just kept on going. :D

So someone from New Jersey took one for the team!

Thanks!

What did you say to him?! :)
I said to him (State Trooper) and his partner who was showing the rookie the ropes...
"Have a Happy Thanks Giving.........., Turkey". Don't think he liked that just kept looking at me as I drove away with a smile... :)

Aside from SMARTIN being a FOX...police like to pull over out of State plate holders...common practice. A good source of revenue.
Mike, I have Florida plates, I was just going the same speed as all the other cars, 77MPH he just had to pull over the Small Sporty Yellow Sky......
BTW - He (State Trooper) told me that it was going to post 6 points infraction on my license and if I attend a class it would drop too 2 points... I called the Orlando office today to make my payment but the ticket is still not on their records, it take 2 weeks for it to be. Anyway, the lady office administrator said that ALL speeding tickets are 3 points against the license and if I attend the class it would be wiped off my license and not reported to my insurance company.. Tomorrow make 2 weeks so I'll call on Friday to pay for the Speeding and tinted taillights and make arrangement for the class.......

That's their job and are getting payed to do so, would they do it if they were not State Troopers, probably not....

The ticket says: (Box Checked) Improper or Unsafe Equipment. In Violation of "State Statute", Section: 316.610(1).... Have you seen my Tail Lights? :D

HAHAHAHA Win. I've tried likewise... they tend to get angry I've noticed.

Yeah... aside from speeding (I have an escort too--- rarely get those), I had 3 cars pull me over after "running two red lights..." which were clearly yellow. I was like, "If you thought I ran the first one, why didn't you pull me over then? Was I not a danger to society then?" ...all six cops were not amused. They LOVE threatening jail time.... hahahaha

I can attest to the Sky as a cop magnet. I've lost count of all the tickets... the only thing I can figure is they make next to nothing, see a Sky, and figure we've got the money to put up with their BS. It's the sign of a sexy car :)

Three patrol cars to make a traffic stop? Sounds like Austin, TX (fair warning to those attending 2011NASSM). They have more cops than they need. :driving:
