I have a 2007 sky base model that requires routine maintenance and may need from time-to-time minor repairs (water pump, brakes etc). I live in Marietta, Georgia. Does anyone know of a mechanic in North Atlanta or Atlanta who can do this kind of work on a sky?

This is not what you want to hear, but the best mechanic will be yourself, even when considering the learning curve. The base Sky without the turbo is fairly easy to maintain, and the turbo is not that much harder. The most important matter is how to avoid breaking things on what is now a 16 year old vehicle with plastics that are now potentially brittle.

If you decide to take on this achievable challenge, this forum will be your best resource. The investment in simple tools will payback their expense after their first use. One really big "plus" will be having a garage to work in and to store your tools.

I encourage you to consider this.

If you are unable to do the work for some reason, or do not have a place to do the work, you can look for an independent mechanic with a good reputation to do it. The Sky, for all of its exotic looks, is pretty stock GM underneath, albeit with some unique features. There is certainly satisfaction for some in doing the work yourself, as @rjgramps stated, but everyone is not in a position to do it.

Neighbor of mine has a high-mileage Solstice and swears by Carl Black Buick GMC in Roswell. I’ve not tried them, but probably will eventually when I come across something that I don’t feel up to myself.
