This is a little must have when installing an aftermarket blow off valve on the Solstice/Sky with the stock turbo.

The stock K04 turbo uses and internal bypass valve, and if you decide to use and external higher flow unit like the Synapse we install, you have to block off the passage on the turbo to make sure boost does not leak back into the intake. We created the perfect drop in replacement made from CNC 6061 aluminum and then hard anodized black to function and look great for the life of your car. Our unique design does not require you to re-use any of the factory parts to the bypass valve, instead our design is a single solid piece of aluminum with a rubber seal that positively will not allow any air to get past it. The new turbo bypass block off plate comes with new bolts and full instructions needed to complete the job. If you want to personalize your setup a little, powdercoat options are available.

Simple little piece, easy to install and if you are going with an aftermarket blow off valve on the stock turbo, this is a must have. Only $30.

I understand the need for this on an aftermarket turbo with no bypass valve, but does the stock bypass valve function well enough with the K04 or is this a needed upgraded to make more power. From what I have read adding a BOV is just to get the woosh noise and offers no performance gains. Can you confirm this? There seems to be alot of disagreement on this subject.

I have heard that the bypass valve on the K04 won't hold boost above 21 psi...that you can get spikes above 21 psi but that the bypass valve will allow it to leak down to 21. That was how someone in the Cobalt/Ion community who deals with this engine was explaining to me.
