Ford's new small truck is available with a hybrid 2.5L or a turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder for an extra $1100. For another $3500 get all-wheel drive. Instead of sharing parts and mechanicals with the slightly larger Ranger truck, the Maverick will ride on the same chassis as the new Bronco.

It will go on sale this fall starting at $21,490. Many people don't want to buy sedans any more. For those tired of driving SUVs this new Ford could be just what they didn't know they were looking for.

Think how much more inexpensive these could be if they were single cab! If I just need a truck to pick up parts or to make home Depot runs I don't need four doors. But new trucks have to have all the check marks I guess.

From Car and Driver:
``` "All Mavericks get an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system. There's a cubby next to it that's awkwardly sized, but the interior is full of other alcoves, including under the rear seats, for items such as larger water bottles and phones. Ford used a floating armrest design for the door panels to allow for more room to fit those larger jugs. WiFi capability and Apple CarPlay and Android capabilities are standard across the board. The base and mid-level models have manually adjustable cloth seats, but the top Lariat model upgrades to power-adjustable faux-leather seats. Sticking with the standard hybrid means slightly less second-row legroom; both configurations have less space in the rear seat than the Escape. The 2022 Ford Maverick is available to order now in XL, XLT, and Lariat models. It'll arrive this fall starting at $21,490 for the base XL model, $23,775 for the XLT, and $26,985 for the Lariat. "
Don't think they can come up with $33K worth of bells & whistles?
Appears to be about 3 feet shorter than the F-150 and about a foot less than the Ranger. It also looks like dealerships are now taking reservations due to unanticipated demand and widescale interest in this all new vehicle. Yeee-haw!
Probably have to put down a pre-order deposit?
might as well sell what you don’t have, they’re doing it now...
Does it come with semiconductors?
