Welcome aboard from Minnesota!

OK, If Saturn dealers in the US are known as "customer friendly" then Canadians who are known for thier niceness and who work at a Saturn dealership......can you say crazy nice? You can just see it .....a salesperson bringing a Sky to your house and while you test drive it, mowing your lawn or doing your dishes. :D But I must say my wfe and I come up there quite often and we are always impressed by our friends to the north.....hope your Skys come soon.

Oakvillesky,your from oakville ont. ??????????
How did you manage to get a sky??
How do you like it???
I will checkout that stubby
Walked in to Budds Saturn test drove it and a week later bought it. Didn't have the Monsoon sound system but had everything else I wanted. Colour was right (Silver Pearl) and I didn't feel like waiting. Paid MSRP.
I love the car, My only complaint is that some of the finishing on the plastic pieces looks cheap. Its much better than the Sol that looked like it came out of a Walmart store- only thing missing was the made in China sticker. The finish on the Sol is really crappy. Frankly I would have paid $1K more to have better looking plastic. My other car is a Jag X-type so I guess I sholdn't complain.

Good Place to Start

Bonjour to all,

We've been following the discussions for a few months, my better half (or two-thirds) and I have shared your "patience" and your concerns for all your Sky and some of your more personal concerns.

My Sky was ordered many moons ago and was born on April 27 with delivery on June 2nd. On June 3rd, we packed a few bags, filled the gas tank and went for a ride. We drove west from Ottawa (Canada) until we reached the Pacific, spent a few days in Sunny Vancouver and drove back home. The drive to the rockies needs to be experienced as no description would do it justice, and in a Sky with the top down "pure pleasure".

Overall the odometer now shows close to 11,000km or almost 7,000 miles, and driving is as fun as the first day. The Sky is the first car I buy with no buyers remorse, one for the textbooks. It makes you feel good with all the praise, and the compliments it generates. Not a single day yet without a "nice car" yell, or "beautiful" or a "does it ride as good as it looks", lots of second takes and "I'm only having a look, I will not steal her".

On our trip we were followed and I do mean followed by many Corvettes, a Ferrari, a Cadillac Roadster, and many BMW, lots of thumbs up and this "can not be a Saturn". Passing or being passed on the highway is a new experience.

I decide to post simply to thank you all for your unknown support during our wait for the Sky (Ernest, Skybaby, Skyman07, USMC, Angelqute1, Rick Tinley, Brentil and many others) and to tell my Canadian brothers and sisters that the Sky is worth the wait (Rick112, CdnSkyGuy, Chloe, Her Sky,Chili Sky...) and delivers more than I expected.

My Sky is Black with Black Top, Red/Black leather, MP3 Radio...and ho! yes an automatic since I often drive in Montreal and traffic is a ... on the Metropolitan Highway or should I say Parking Lot. Reminds me of Gardiner Expressway or the 101 between SFO and San Jose at times but worse.

Hopefully the rarety in Canada will preserve the "new wow" feeling and reactions for all of you. The sure love it all over the country. This coming weekend I am driving east, will see were I stop!

Ciao!

Jay

We're looking at doing that trip come August. Did you take the Canadian route or American? I know from where we're located we'll probably take the American route for the bulk of the trip. Have done the Canada 1 to banff a couple of times. Getting out of Ontario seemed to take forever but a lovely drive.

Thanks Jay

I enjoyed your trip with you!!!!! I remember driving across Canada from Ontario only it was in a Celica, fun fun fun. Yes the vistas out there are so wonderful it just can not be explained.

A drive you might also like is Route 66, I have done it in my truck and camper and in my 67 Impala convertable, the drive through the lower states is the best, the people are great and the different foods to die for.

Post us some pictures from your trip, that would be nice to see.

Thanks again and enjoy your toy, I am still waiting
