The aftermarket fender lines aren't thicker, they are made of a totally different material. The OEM ones are plastic, like ABS type plastic. The aftermarket ones are more like a fiber-reinforced rubber. They are shiny and you can see the fiber reinforcements where the factory is textured/semi-gloss. That different material allows them to flex a lot more. When I had my car at a show I was asked where I got the carbon fiber fender liners, not that I think they look like carbon but apparently some people do.Thank you everyone!! We are in upstate NY. Seems when someone changed the battery they had no idea how to take the fender portion out for the install. So the fender liner on the PS is all busted at the screws. Been looking online on a how to video to remove and put new ones in. And debating between GM or aftermarket. Some say the aftermarket ones are a thicker plastic vs the GM ones.
Silver is by far the fastest, just ask marlboromike.
Welcome. I also have a red Sky but with only 6,200 miles on it. It was actually converted over to look exactly like the Opel GT so it has no Saturn badges on it. Still smells like a new car inside.Hello all!! My wife and I just bought our first Sky over the weekend! It’s a 09 Redline Chilly Pepper Red!! 8k on the clock! Looking forward to chatting with the membership for support and ideas!! I’ve heard so much about the forum!!
Those are a couple of really nice cars. The supercharger is a nice addition. I would contact DDM and see what the delay is with the Supercharger. I know many of those kinds of kits are made when ordered kind of things but three months seems a bit excessive.Welcome. I also have a red Sky but with only 6,200 miles on it. It was actually converted over to look exactly like the Opel GT so it has no Saturn badges on it. Still smells like a new car inside.
I ordered a supercharger from DDM Motorworks 3 months ago but their customer service sucks so I have no idea when or if I will ever get it. Love the car but it needs more oomph for me.
(I currently drive a Jaguar F Type R series which has 550hp with a twin turbo V-8 and the care before that was a Ferarri California T, also a twin turbo car so I am a bit spoiled when it comes to speed).
Just always loved the look of the Sky.
Does anyone know if there is a YouTube video of replacing the inner fender skins? Or a detailed manual? As clean as this car is, I sort of want to replace both so they both have the same aged look. Any thoughts about the molded mud guards?
Now now, let's not be race(est) (see that?)I agree yellow is faster
