So, they are planning on building the Opels on the same line as the solstice and the sky... and they may be releasing it in North America!Saturn Sky retagged
The all too well publicized Saturn Sky in the US has been retagged as an Opel and is being taken to Europe. In fact it will also be made at the Wilmington, Delaware plant in the US that makes the Pontiac Solstice and the Saturn Sky. The Sky though has a 2.4 litre engine and the GT gets the same power plant as the Pontiac Solstice. GM loves to crossbrand and crossbadge to keep development costs lower. This makes sense too, which explains all the Daewoos driving around with Chevrolet badging in India.
Opel till now was exclusively German, but not any more. The GT might be introduced in the US too about this time next year. That would bring the Opel badge back to the US after almost four decades. After all two-third of all GTs built in the 70s were exported to the US.
