Um... I have been to this forum like 14 times today, and yesturday, and several days before that... I am JONESING for my Sky. What have you guys done to get your car off your mind? My girl will be seeing me Friday, so that day is covered, but what am I going to do for the next 5 weeks? I cant freaking stand it.

Only 14 times a day huh? Thats just the tip of the obsessive ice berg my friend.

When you start drawing it on your casebooks and reread the same brochure for the 200th time and check the forum and post at 1:10AM... well... Im only saying it can get worse so be prepared.

I think the only thing that brings comfort is having a site like this where we can all shoot back and forth ideas, hopes, conspiracy theories, ect... all in hopes of that one day when we can post the thread "MY SKY IS HERE (PICS)" and drive feverously in to the night -- potentially never to be seen again for several months in an Easy Rider like adventure (minus the sudden ending).

Welcome, grab a beer (or a case), sit back and enjoy the ride before the ride.
14 times??? you n00b!!!!
1:38 am my friend... im gonna find some coffee...:willy:
My neighbors are gonna freak out when they see the day that I hug my car.
Do Not Lose It

HUMOR YOURSELF. I'M SICK OF PEOPLE ASKING ME WHY I'M NOT DRIVING MY SKY.NOW I TELL THEM THEY SHIPPED THE FIRST ONE ON THE TITANIC AND NOW I HAVE TO WAIT AWHILE AWHILE AWHILE AWHILE AWHILE AWH.,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, :):brentil:
Patience is a virtue

But I still don't have any - patience that is - not virtue. This forum sometimes makes the waiting a little easier - sometimes it makes it unbearable - we are all in the same boat right now - soon we will all be in the same style car!
That's funny - I grew up in Spartanburg! I know for a fact that there isn't much to do there to pass the time. J/K!

Hopefully your wait won't be too long! Just keep your fingers crossed!
I just got a call from my dealer in Indy and my car was there when they came to work today. I've had a deposit in since Feb. 1 last year and we're finally here. They asked me to wait until 2:00 to give them time to prep it. Then I have fly to Florida in the morning for 4 days. It's going to be pure hell being down there in 80 degree weather and knowing my Sky is back in Indiana in the garage. Keep the faith and your day will be here before you know it.:driving: :driving: :driving:

You are behaving better than I would be. I would have to "sky" that business trip!! Now that I am struck by the realization that I would blow off work for a mite of a car, consider this: Friends describe me as a woman just less patient than death. I am cool in conflict, and never rattled by work, relationships, change, but this little sky mobile promises to be my undoing! Maybe it should happen to each of us just once in a lifetime? When you do pick up your car, do tell, tell it all. Sniff the floor mats even, and describe in detail!!!! :D
Hang in There

We all know what you are going through. This is the first car that I have ever been this excited about. :willy: My previous cars have been bought on the lot when it was time to get a new car. This is the first one I actually had to order and wait for which is driving me bonkers
I actually feel worst for my family, friends and co-workers who constantly hear me rant on about my "SKY". Most haven't even heard about it..especially since it's a Saturn. So I tend to work it in conversation....Them: "The weather is getting warmer." Me: "Yeah it is...did I tell you I just ordered a SKY!!!" :)

There's no getting it off your mind until it is finally delivered and you are driving it everywhere! :driving:
Well, since my husband has only heard rumors about two seaters, and scoffed at nonsense about "how fun it would be to have personalized license plates with the word "sky" in it" and because he was out of town skiing when I put down the deposit and ordered the Sky, and my saleslady is on strict orders to dial my cell phone only, and he won't know of it, see it until I drive it home...because of all that, for the most part my friends and coworkers, but for those in my trusted inner circle, have been spared all my mewling and whining, bragging...!!! That leaves y'all to have to endure! :D (Pronounced "yawlll" in the South). He was in Mexico when I ripped the carpet up against his wishes and refinised the wood floors, and he loved it, couldn't visualize, so my take on all this is that husbands against their women driving twoseaters just don't know what's good for them, that is why you have us, and when he gets to drive it, I won't hear narry a peep. So, I am just skipping all the naysaying, keeping him from being stressed ( I am so unselfish, don't you think) by saying nothing until the SKy is in my driveway. I am the primary breadwinner in my house, but, while I don't pull rank usually, from time to time a girl has to do what a girl has to do.

You go Girl!! You sound alot like my wife. I left for a week long business trip and came home to find that she had two palm trees removed from our front yard and newly laid sod in the back yard. Just love that little dickens!
HA! See? Good to know there are other "get er done" gals out there. We know what's best, and as long as the "sneaky" is fun and meant to benefit all. There is a running joke when he leaves town, someone will say, "That's long enough for your wife to build an addition your house"...My guy is the greatest, I have painted the house, ditched the inlaw's dining room set for a new one, torn out the bathroom, the list goes on (So far, the flat screen LCD was received with most positive attitude..hhahahaha) But this, this is the numero uno impulse-sneaky to date in all eight years. Sometimes we are talking in the morning and we don't want to stop and he'll drive me to the office which is a trek and very sweet, as he calls it door-to-door service. When he got first whiff that a convertable was on my radar screen he reacted with some negativity, (silly him, like you can interfere with the tides)He said, "You need four seats," I said, "No, I don't need room for three men, just you." and followed with "Besides... you can drive me to work in the sportscar, and after you drop me off the girls will think it's your car".

I went to a local dealer last Fri morning to see one that looked just like what I have ordered. I couldn't touch it. I folded my hands behind my back to lean over and read the VIN (100823) so I wouldn't touch it. The lady who bought it asked me if I wanted to sit in it, and I wouldn't do it!!

This is like the Stanley Cup. Active hockey players won't touch it :nono: unless they win it. I can't touch one until my own arrives. Even then I don't know how I will approach it. I think I'm going to walk around it a few times and take pictures. When I get in I'll probably play with everything so long the dealership people will give up and just go back inside.

A jones here just wondering what "JONESING" means. I was wondering if I'd been so irritative asking for info that Saturn had a new term for my behavior named after me :willy: :willy:
You seriously don't know what "Jonesing" means? Hmmm....how to explain that one........

MMMMEEEE aaaaaand Mrs. JONES Mrs Jones Mrs Jones ........ We got a thing going on.
As you can see, I've been here a while and made a few posts. This thing is amost all I think about. It's driving me crazy!

I equate this to being 7 years old and knowing Santa is bringing you all the kool toys you asked for....Only one problem....No one is willing to tell you when Christmas is....They won't even tell you what month Christmas will happen this year.:banghead: :brentil: :willy: That's how I feel!
Thatsa good one Rick...I earlier wanted to compare this wait and anticipation to Christmas but it didn't seem right. Couldn't put my finger on why, but You pegged the reason why! No one will tell us when the day arrives, better yet, is like the endless Christmas Eve.. the advantage the newbies like me have over you guys that started here, gosh, more than a year ago, is that cars are arriving, and we can study who got what codes when. I was told second week in May, but I am thinking based on what I read here (more useful than what Saturn sez) More like the week of June 22...but, hey, May is good. Really.
