Yes, thanks for the info.

Personally, I'd love to know how many 2008 Skys were made with the "custom color combination" option. I would think that it must be a small number.

I suspect the red-on-red combination must be very rare (I believe that there are only 3 of us here on this forum).

It would definately be much more rare but without going through every vin to see what color combinations were installed I do not think that would be able to get that info. Stretch

Yes, I know that finding the number of red-red would not be possible, but just knowing how many people got the "override" option (of any combo) would be helpful.

At least then I'd know an "upper-limit".

But again, thanks for the info you got.

Any time I was very happy to finally get the answers so many have tried in the past but I guess I was lucky to ask the right person during MECCA II.

Oh

Would have been nice to get breakdown by color as well. Also, more base Skys were sold than Redline. It shows people prefer cruising in the Sky and not racing in them.

It's nice to own a more rare car that isn't seen everywhere on the road such as a Taurus or similiar. Prior to buying our 08 Sky, we owned a 95 Vette LT1 and before that we had a 1999 Buick Riviera Silver Arrow (last production year for the Riviera). While the 1999 production year was barely over 1900 the Silver Arrows were even more rare as they only made 200 of those and we owned number 102 with just about all the special accessories that came with it from the factory to make it even more uncommon.

Or they didn't want to spend the extra cash. :jester:

Actually if you remember way back then, until about June 07, you could not actually order a RL. My first sky that I turned down was in may of 07 because they did not do the interior with the Red and Black as it was told to me by the dealership was able to be done. I then reordered and my dealership closed on June 1st transfered all stuff to another dealership owned by the same people and a couple of weeks into june was told about the new ability to order the turbo version and the rest is history it was built in november and delivered on december 21 as an early xmas present to myself.

Well my point was that cruising and racing doesn't necessarily correspond with horsepower. I'm sure there are those that thrash their 2.4's harder than some of the Redline owners do.

Absolutely as they have more engine mods for the 2.4 vs 2.0 so far but only time will tell. Stretch

I'm really surprised that this information has proven to be hard to get. Pontiac Historic Services is incredible. Surely GM collects this information as a way to track trends of what sells well, and what does not. We just need to find out who within GM has access to that info.

I was told that they built 500 RRLE redline Skys, and I wonder how many were manuals and how many were automatics.
