News from the GM Auto Show in Motion in San Jose, CA
I went to the GM Auto Show in Montion this weekend and they had a red pre-production sky there. The Saturn rep said that they production line will start up in January with a run of 250 production models that will be used for production shake down, auto journalist reviews and auto shows. Then by mid-Feb to early March the first consumer ones will start rolling off the line given that there are no problems. Saturn is not expecting any major problems since the all the mechanical problems are being worked out on the Solstice, leaving only cosmetic problems.
It was also stated that the 2.0 supercharged engine that has been mentioned will be the Sky redline.
Saturn is already planning for a second generation Sky which some of the changes could included being a little longer so us taller folks can fit in there better, and a redesign of the trunk area to allow for more room with the top down.
