I have the J-series.

I have to say, getting a shorty will degrade your signal or at least, it probably will. I guess it will depend on how close you live to the radio towers, but my reception definately dropped when I installed the stubby.
the website says the J is 4 out of 5 stars for reception but I would say more like 2 out of 5.

I also ordered the O series but didn't like the way it looked so I then ordered the J.
The O was completely unbearable. Even the stations 10 miles from me barely came in. The J is better but still not great. I've gone ahead and kept it on the car as it does look much better than the stock whip antenna.

Let me know which one you go with, if you get better results then I might switch.

I have the B Series - Chrome

The B series is a nice little cone shape when retracted, and extends out to 11 inches. I also bought the Y series thinking it would look better, but while it is "adjustable" it is not "retractable." The adjustment is achieved by inserting different length stems into the antennae. So to "adjust" it you have to carry spare parts around. No thanks... I'll stick with the "B"

Sounds like it's not worth it unless the only thing your going for is the better looking antenna.

ya, thats kinda my feeling. I think its really dependent on your area, many on the sol forum are happy with their short antenna. They say they get very good reception, so maybe its just the area I live in. There are a lot of mountains here so maybe thats the reason for my bad reception.
I have the o series and have had no problem when I listen to local stations, but I have to admit I also have xm.

I live in FL. Can't much flatter than that! For $10 maybe I can risk it.
Antenna

I have both the A series and the O series. I wasn't sure which I liked best until I saw it on the car. I prefer the O series. The FM stations I listen to in Central Texas are both finicky regarding their signals. I have no problems getting either with the shorty antenna.

Like others, I have XM and listen to it primairly. I got the shortie for looks but it is quite functional in our area.

Jim
Just ordered the 'B' antenna. I'll see how that works. Thanks for the vendor and advice.

Check out your local Wal-Mart in auto dept. Less than $10. and just screws on like factory antenna. It may be my imagination but it seems like it receives station further away than factory. I've even received Atlanta and Knoxville stations here in Chatt. but of course it could be just skip.

I just got my B series antenna today, now I just have to wait about 2 more weeks for my sky. I plan on listening to my ipod the majority of the time so I purchased the antenna mostly for looks.
Why not go with a power antenna?????
I have one ordered for mine...along with aftermarket rims..etc

Hey Red Sky I am in Deltona as well....My Redline is about two to three weeks out...I am going crazy waiting

Take a deep breath and exhale slowly. We don't want to the hyper-ventilate. :willy: The night before you go to the dealership to finally get the car will be a night that you'll find hard to sleep. By the way to you know Patsy from your racing connections?

FYI, I did check out Wal-mart and theirs are not really stubby. I love the one I bought on line where everyone else is getting theres. And I also checked out pep boys, checkers and a few others. Nothing comes close to the true stubby one.
