I have the J-series.SkyHi07 said:Which one do you have USMC?
Sounds like it's not worth it unless the only thing your going for is the better looking antenna.usmc said:I have the J-series.
I have to say, getting a shorty will degrade your signal or at least, it probably will. I guess it will depend on how close you live to the radio towers, but my reception definately dropped when I installed the stubby.
the website says the J is 4 out of 5 stars for reception but I would say more like 2 out of 5.
I also ordered the O series but didn't like the way it looked so I then ordered the J.
The O was completely unbearable. Even the stations 10 miles from me barely came in. The J is better but still not great. I've gone ahead and kept it on the car as it does look much better than the stock whip antenna.
Let me know which one you go with, if you get better results then I might switch.
ya, thats kinda my feeling. I think its really dependent on your area, many on the sol forum are happy with their short antenna. They say they get very good reception, so maybe its just the area I live in. There are a lot of mountains here so maybe thats the reason for my bad reception.RedSky07 said:Sounds like it's not worth it unless the only thing your going for is the better looking antenna.

Check out your local Wal-Mart in auto dept. Less than $10. and just screws on like factory antenna. It may be my imagination but it seems like it receives station further away than factory. I've even received Atlanta and Knoxville stations here in Chatt. but of course it could be just skip.RedSky07 said:Does any have a URL of where I can find a short antenna?
I did not have anything to do with it...Skip.....UTCCOP said:Check out your local Wal-Mart in auto dept. Less than $10. and just screws on like factory antenna. Take a deep breath and exhale slowly. We don't want to the hyper-ventilate. :willy: The night before you go to the dealership to finally get the car will be a night that you'll find hard to sleep. By the way to you know Patsy from your racing connections?OPEL GT FREAK said:Why not go with a power antenna?????

Hey Red Sky I am in Deltona as well....My Redline is about two to three weeks out...I am going crazy waiting
O.B.
FYI, I did check out Wal-mart and theirs are not really stubby. I love the one I bought on line where everyone else is getting theres. And I also checked out pep boys, checkers and a few others. Nothing comes close to the true stubby one.UTCCOP said:Check out your local Wal-Mart in auto dept. Less than $10. and just screws on like factory antenna.
