Mark - Something is wrong with the number for the 2008 SKY's.
According to another post their were 13,662 SKY's built that year. Your total shows 12,894. Are your number wrong or the numbers I got from the other post wrong?
BTW - Thank You for the info!

This is data from the compnine site.

For 2008, it shows 8163 cars with the LNF engine, and 4731 cars with the LE5 engine.

According to compnine, 12,894 Skys would be correct for 2008 - note that this includes 120 Daewoo G2X cars but does NOT seem to include any Opel GT cars.

I have data saved from the compnine site from before it went to a pay service. Unfortunately, the data I have from 2007 is obviously incomplete, while the other years APPEAR to be correct.

An interesting note - in 2009, there were 89 Hydro blue special edition Skys made, but there were 90 cars that are reported as having that paint color. This means that there should be 1 Sky somewhere with this paint that is not the special edition. A test car to try out the paint color perhaps?

Then, can we say their are 768 2008 Opel GT's out there to complete the 13,662 for the 2008 data?

How about those car that they use for safety test crash, are they added into these data number?

768 Opel GTs sounds reasonable. Where did your 13,662 number come from?

I don't know if these numbers include test vehicles or not. There is no mention of anything like that.

Using the VIN decoder, under the list of possible options, color 75U came up described as "primary color exterior, purple haze, Holden."

As we have no purple Skys (that I know of), what is this? It lists Holden - the Australian GM.

Checking 75U on the web it comes up as just "red."

Same with the Sunburst Yellow, it comes back as Lt. Teal Metallic....

75U is actually the Techno Gray (I don't know why it gets listed as purple).

I think I remember reading somewhere that because the Sky was designated a low production vehicle, they didn't have to crash test them. Even if they did, I don't think they would have crashed 800 of them. The GT's must account for the missing number.

Also, would a crash test car be assigned a VIN and be counted in production numbers?

This was interesting to see there were actually 90 Hydro Blue in 2009, I thought there were only 89. I redid my VIN# check and there were 89 SE versions, 49 Turbo-40 2.4. Who owns the only Non-Special (limited) Edition Hydro Blue, and is it a Turbo or 2.4 without the stripe and special wheels?

Be warned that the 2007 model year info on compnine is NOT complete.

They show only 4724 cars built for that year - which is obviously wrong.

The breakdown I have for that year shows :
Bluestone (38U) 149
Forest Green (38U) 210
Polar White (50U) 238
Sunburst Yellow (34U) 318
Midnight Blue (25U) 502
Silver Graphite (42U) 675
Chili Pepper Red (74U) 726
Black Onyx (41U) 744
Silver Pearl (67U) 1162

Note that these total only to 4724 - and probably represents only a part of the year.

Silver Graphite (the "other" silver) was only available during 2007 and was discontinued because they had trouble getting the color to be consistent across paint batches. Panels painted on one day would not really match panels painted on another day. The color was replaced with "Techno Grey" for 2008.
