Ok, so now that my Sky is here (yippeee!) I've been thinking of what the perfect "cruising music" would be for such an exciting & beautiful roadster so I did some thinking and am starting a list.

In fact, I've already created a playlist on my iPod and called it "Sky tunes" :D

Here is what I have so far:

Classic Rock baby! yeah!
Jimi Hendrix - Purple Haze (..."excuse me while I kiss the sky")
Norman Greenbaum - Spirit in the Sky (a classic!)
Steve Miller Band - Fly Like an Eagle and Keep on Rockin' Me (coool)
The Eagles - Peaceful, Easy Feeling (ahh) and Life in the Fast Lane (watch out for lead-foot while listening to this one)
AC/DC - Back in Black (if you have a black Sky this one is perfect!)
Lynrd Skynyrd - Sweet Home Alabama (another classic)

Modern Rock/Pop/Hip Hop
Train - When I Look to the Sky (such a beautiful song)
U2 - Beautiful Day (need I say more?)
Gwen Stefani - Luxurious (the groove is so mellow & smooth, ahh)
Kanye West - Touch the Sky (one of my current favorites! I will be playing this song the most over and over again haha!)
Snoop Dogg - Drop Like it's Hot (the top that is, hehehe)

Good ole' country music (hey if you're from Texas you know what I mean  ):
George Strait - Clear Blue Sky (not too much a Strait fan, but if you've got a blue-colored Sky then this one's perfect for you!)
Teri Clark - A Little Gasoline (this song is fun fun fun!)
Sara Evans - Born to Fly (Sara has a great voice and this song is fantastic!)
Tracy Lawrence - Stars Over Texas (the melody is beautiful, listen to it with your special someone with the top down on a clear starry night  )
Daryl Worley - Good Day to Run (another fun song)

Well that's all I can think of for now. Feel free to to add to this list/thread and let the rest of us know what your favorite songs/music genre you like to listen to while riding around in your Sky, thanks!

Not sure what category this fits into but, I played Willie Nelson's "Countryman" reggae CD. Cool beats to go with the top down - and I shared with my fellow drivers!

Jimmy Buffett was next.

Thats the first song I heard after I took my Sky off the lot, I found it very fitting. I like everyone's line up of songs a lot.

I would have to add Kenny Chesney "Summertime" or maybe "Road and the Radio" as well as some Dave Matthews and Buffett.

Oh, and throw in some Rage Against The Machine for when I'm driving hard.

This discussion came up on the Sol forums and it was enough to make me go out and buy an iPod...yea, I was a little behind the times.

So now, on the iPod I have:

I Can't Drive 55 - Sammy Hagar (and the theme song to my life)
Danger Zone - Kenny Logins...I mean come on if that doesn't want to make you drive...
Dragula - Rob Zombie
Summertime - Will Smith
All I learned about Mexico - Montgomery Gentry
Route 66 - Depeche Mode remake
Behind the Wheel - Depeche Mode
Thunderstruck - AC/DC

There's more to come...I need to get Demon Speeding from Rob Zombie too...another good one.

ONE THING I HAVE NOTICED ON THESE SONGS IS THAT THE AGE BRACKET FOR SKY OWNERS SEEMS TO BE YOUNGER THAN WITH THE SOL'S

A lot of us are quoting 60's and 70's songs

over here you profile 80's & 90's
and some of these groups i've never even heard of

Great stuff

Keep 'em coming...

Some of the songs I would have never remembered until you mentioned them were:
I Can't Drive 55 - Sammy Hagar
Danger Zone - Kenny Logins
LL Cool J - Going Back to Cali
Steppenwolf - Born to be Wild
Halcyon & On & On - Orbital (good trance song!)
GnR - paradise city, Sweet child O mine (how could I forget Guns N Roses! hehe)
Queen - I'm in Love with my Car (perfect choice Rick!)

For Druid-2...60's & 70's music huh?
Here is what I like & think will fit with the Sky:
Boston - More than a Feeling
The Guess Who - American Woman
Fleetwood Mac - Go Your Own Way
Doobie Brothers - Listen to the Music
The Who - Long Live Rock/Behind Blue Eyes
Bob Seger - Against the Wind/Good Time Rock n Roll
Allman Brothers Band - Midnight Rider/Ramblin Man/Blue Sky/Southbound
Pink Floyd - The Great Gig in the Sky/The Wall
Led Zeppelin - Dancing Days/Song Remains the Same

I agree on that by listing what we listen to, it also let's us know the demographic of our fellow Kappa owners. Like I said...keep em coming!

My Daughter has an older IPod she is giving me. Have to update the songs on it. I really like most of the choices listed so far. With the IPod I should be able to put most of them on it.
