Well, if they are buying it for a mark up on eBay, I would think they would also need to sell it for more on the lot... sad...1994SC2 said:saturnofscottsdale ( 0 ) is one of the bidders (currently the high bidder) -- you think this is a dealer hoping to get one to mark up and sell??
Found this on saturnfans.com's Sky forum.Sky Pilot said:About the Sky auctioned on eBay....
I just had to ask the winner... WHY? Being a dealer and all, so I did and here's his response (in chilli pepper red, LOL):
Good question. I bought the car to keep here and to display it at venues around the city of Scottsdale. I'm only getting about 16 from the factory and they are all sold. As a matter of fact, I'm sold out till 2007. Incidentally, all of these are sold at MSRP or sticker price with no mark-up.That's the we do things at Saturn. The Sky is a big hit here as you can imagine convertibles in this price range as nice as the Sky are very popular. I plan on keeping the Red Sky all year long and did not have a problem paying a little over the market value for the car. Call it additional advertising expense that I can spread out throughout the year. If and when the car is sold it will be sold at MSRP also. Thanks for your question.
Well, there you go.... and another "no gouging" dealer to add to the list of where to by a Sky!
Actually, although SC sales tax is 5%, I believe there is a $300 cap on car purchases, so that would increase the profit by a good chunk.KappaMan said:BUT the user bought the car, titled in his name, in South Carolina. 5% sales tax = -$1,291.
