Can someone let me know at what number the Sky and Sol cars started to share the vin number sequence? They started off with seperate lists, but were combined at some point this summer. I posted in the "getting your Sky" area last week, but there wasn't an answer yet.

They started to combine them when the 2007 Solstice went into production. It was around 4500 give or take a few hundred maybe. They didn't need to to this with the 2006 because there were no 2006 Sky's. Otherwise those would of been combined too. Now don't forget the Opel is now using the same vin sequence. It is all Kappa's.

Well that's interesting. Thanks for the info. Makes tracking how many Skys are made a little harder...and the first 4500 a little more special.:)

I just looked at hummingbyrrd Vin at the solstice forum and her car was built 7/10/06 for a 2007 Solstice her vin was 104911. They started building the 2007 around June 26, 2006. So they were at the end of the second week already when hers was built. They make around 2200 Solstice a month. So that would make it around 3800/3900 Sky's before they started the combining with the Solstice.

If you take a look in June production there were 1,550 Sol (2006) 433 Sol (2007) and 1,125 Sky (2007). Total amount of Skies up to June 4,430.

For the last week of June production the counting was combined. Therefore we have to subtract one week of Sky production ~ 280 in that month.

So I think the start of combined counting should be round about at 4150.
