Darn...........I have to work that night:banghead: ...............oh well........the recorder can handle it!:D .........Thanx, for the details.:)
I set the DVR to record it last night so there is no way I miss it.
I think it is a bad idea to be at the VMA's. The crowd there is mostly teens and younger, they don't drive and the ones who can can't afford the SKY. They should have hit up a 20-something event not a teenage event.

Apparently you haven't seen the local high school parking lots. Now adays kids are getting far more expensive cars earlier thanks to their parents/working/etc. The Sky is targeted more towards the younger tuner crowd for sure with it's styling as well. I wouldn't be suprised to see an influx of pre-orders after the VMAs and traffic spike here too.

I have been; when I was in HS some kid had a Vette. Did he deserve it no, I think it's ridiculous a 16 year old has any car other than the parents hand me down, or $20k or less if it's new (with proper saftey features added on such as side air-bags).
I must be a teen cause I was planned on watchin the VMA's ok so I'm kidding but I do frequent mtv man I gotta grow up. I'm 24 and own a home, and the 6 seasons of the simpsons that are out

Being 24 you're in the MTV generation age. You grew up when MTV was pretty much available during your entire 'consumer' life span.
I love you brentil

True (I am also 24), but I think I've watched MTV less than 10 times. Not a big fan of it, probably why I think it's a bad idea to show it at the VMA's. The typical MTV person won't care.

I'm 23.. wasn't planning on watching VMA's until the mention of the SKY commercial.. (it's almost pathetic in a way... but uh ehh oh well) I just figured they would re-run the show a thousand times so if I missed anything worth while I'd probably see it then or on the news...

Then I also think they target MTV b/c it seems to me that most people around my age that watch it faithfully are spoiled brats.. especially the women.. so they prob figure ol daddy would fork up the cash for a SKY!

Do you guys think they will do a promotion with it like the Solstice? If so I'd stay right here by my computer and watch out for it.. I would love to be a 1st 1000 owner or something..
I'm not impressed with how Saturn has promoted the Sky to this point. The site is average but the music or sound effect drives me up a wall. Take a look at the Dodge site http://www.dodge.com/charger/. If you have sound you will see what I mean. This is an in your face Vrrrrmmm kinda car and the site says that.

I don't know who they are selling the Sky to. Board house wives? And now the VMA? I don't even get the music channel. I watch Survivor and the Apprentice. Fear Factor would be a good one too.

The video clips on the site confuse the hell out of me. Is Saturn selling a heart racing drive in the country with the girlfriend or a ride to the daycare centre with the wife and kiddies? A Chrysler mini van commercial has more excitement.

I'm really looking forward to the commercial. I'll love it no matter what, but this is Saturn's chance to really impress the hell out of everyone. As for the Video Music awards, I think they are targeting exactly the right demographic. It's a young crowd with no responsibilities who will be moved by a gorgeous impractical car that is actually attainable.

People my age (30) often look down on Saturns like you wouldn't believe, including me and I drive one. I have a pretty decent car and I take crap for it on a regular basis simply because of the brand name from friends and strangers alike. Those people all tend to be around my age and will be difficult to win over.

The mid-life crisis set (no offense intended to anyone) often have needs and responsibilities that aren't compatible with this type of car and/or bigger budgets to satisfy their whims.

Saturn needs to get every 14-20 year old kid in the country drooling over this car. They won't all be able to buy them, but I'll bet more than a few drag the folks in to look at it and leave with an Ion or something. Saturn has to woo that generation with everything its got, because the loyal customers I see when I get my car serviced don't look like they'll be breathing very long, let alone buying more cars (again, no offense.)

I mentioned the Dodge site to show how lacking Saturns promotions have been so far. The Dodge site is visually stimulating and if you have sound it really rocks. Saturn hasn't given us much on the Sky of late.

Dodge has used the web site and other media to make a 4 door, 6.1L gas guzzler with a slick paint job and history the only things really going for it look sexy.

The information from Saturn should be coming at a better pace. They should be giving us a list of where we can see the car. Call Saturn customer service on Monday and ask where the car will be. Pick option #2 and I bet you still get hung up on. Pick option #3 and you will find someone who doesn't know anything about the Sky or where it will be in the near future. Most of what I've seen and heard has been from this site. The point is they are marketing this car like its a Relay. :banghead:

How many other people on this site have been frustrated by the lack of information from Saturn. We've never even seen this car with the roof. We seen to know more about the car than the dealer. :brentil:

I will try to find a way to see the commercial tomorrow night. And I will be one of those people trying to get onto the Saturn web site tomorrow night to check out the changes.

Saturn doesnt care about selling SKYs. They will all be sold without any advertising.

They care about changing their image and selling more Vues, Ions, Relays, and Soon Auras.

Great commerical BTW and the VUE commercial was really good too.
That was a crazy cool comercial...NOW BUILD THE DAMN THING!!

The Outlook too once it comes out. The Sky/Solstice are Halo cars for both lines meant to add primarily to their image. They will of course help sales, but they're meant to help redefines the lines.

I didnt mention the OUTLOOK beacuse from what I have seen of it and if it get 26 MPG, it will sell itself. :D
