Some people won't take no for an answer.

Driving home from the store yesterday, some kid in a Honda Civic with one of those coffee can mufflers pulled up beside me at a stop light and started revving his motor... well he took off and was wanting me to race him, he backed off and revved up again, he did this for about 3 miles and then fell in behind me and got right on my bumper. all I could see was his ugly face in my rear view mirror he was so close. I hate that so much, what if i had to stop quickly for something, he would have been inside my car with me. I won't tell you what happened next, but I think he will think twice before doing that to another Sky...

I do NOT condone street racing, and this was more of a short sprint around a few curves I knew very well and never more than 40 MPH, I didn't have to go any faster... Honda Civics do not handle very well... I didn;t even want to do that, but riding my bumper the way he was is my biggest pet peeve.:brentil:
Driving excitement

I have had my Sky for a week now. Chili Pepper Red! For the most part, people have been nice giving me compliments and admiring the car. I have had the experience when a kid driving one of those rice-burners, stick his tongue out and give a double thumbs downs as he drove by. I take that as extreme envy and nothing more from that juvenile mind. And yesterday coming home from Easter services, a small pick up truck got in the right hand lane next to me and matched my speed , slowing or speeding up. I was worried I would be able to get into the right hand lane to make my turn. Thankfully I came upon a car who slowed to make a right hand turn, so I speed up a little and left this guy behind. Got to be extra careful and 'situationally-aware' of the traffic with these characters on the road. Also in Orlando FL, a person retunring to his new Chevy car from church was shot and killed in front of his family for no apparent reason other than to steal his car! Please be careful fellow Sky owners.

Anyone stealing a Sky right now would be extreemly stupid. they are too noticable on the road, and any report of a stolen Sky we will have to put an Amber alert out...
Civics wanting to race you is a nasty side effect of our cars for some reason.

However we do not support kill/street racing stories on these forums since they are illegal actions and we do no condone those types of activities.

Otherwise I'd tell you about all those Civic owners I've made wish they hadn't wasted their money.

I don't support street racing either, the only way I could get away from this AH was to show him he didn't have a snowballs chance in H*** so give it up, What he was already doing was already dangerous. and I was just getting a good lead on him before turning off... like I said, it was a short sprint around a few curves not exceeding the posted limit....

Stories about racing other people on the street illegally.
I hate people like that! I don’t understand why every punk who thinks he has a fast car thinks that everyone on the street in some sort of sporty car will want to race them light to light. Make the challenge, and if you’re turned down, just head on your way. The tailgating bit drives me nuts the most. I usually try to drive slower and slower, annoying them until they pass me and go away.

On the other hand, it is nice to put some people in their place! ;)

Kill racing stories i think are ones where you accept the challange and you beat the pants off of someone, street racing is just what it says, they are about one and the same..
This was the first time in over 3,000 miles in my Sky where someone tried this with me, most of the people will look at your car and nod approvingly or give you a thumbs up or hollar Nice car... those are good people, but those that do stupid stuff like get on your tail and dog you for miles, it is hard to resist putting them in their place... but you can wait for a safer area to do it and not carry it on for miles, just a short burst of speed to show you have them covered is all that is usually needed...

Another response, would be to pretend to race them and intentionally start slow enough off the line, so they THINK they beat you, then they will leave you alone as well.

Who gives a [email protected](< if they think the Sky is slow!
Not quite street racing

back in high school a friend of mine with a 67 Mustang got along side me at a red light in my 64 GTO - we were revving engines and stuff until a cop pulled up on the other side of the intersection - so my friend turned right and I nice and slowly went straight.

at that same intersection on a different occasion I was riding in our family van and got behind two cars at the light - one was something like a Monte Carlo SS or something like that - and the other was some kind of exotic sports car - a Ferrari or something (its been a long time I don't quite recall). The Monte Carlo had over sized wheels and such and strats revving his engine and whatnot - the funny part is that the exotic car had his right turn signal on the whole time - but he revs his engine a bit - the dumba** is in the Monte Carlo goes tearing off when the light changed and the sports car made a nice leisurly right turn that he had planned all along.

Rice Burners crashing through my fence land in yard

I ended up with a hotrodding pair of teen drivers in my front yard yesterday morning, they lost it, and one of the cars ended up crashing through my fence, and landing in my vegetable garden. I was standing on my deck drinking coffee watched it happen. I strolled up to the accident scene (after making sure no one needed an ambulance) And advised that if either had wanted a tour of the garden, they could have walked around.
I had a run in this morning with a PT Cruiser turbo while riding my sport bike into work today. He passed me on a exit ramp and proceeded to pass me and drop back and pass me again. When we finally came to a light he pulled along side me and gave me a big smile. Not being amused, I unzipped my jacket and adjusted my holster (.45 automatic) and looked directly at a him. He broke eye contact and proceeded on his way, very far, far, away from me after that. Sometimes these kids just need to remember their place in the world.
