sticking brakes

After starting my car i put in drive {automatic) and the brakes were stuck on. I was able to pull the pedal back and seems okay. I am wondering what would cause this. Master cylinder ? I bought new in 07 64k

Calipers could be dirty and need to be stripped and cleaned. Also, sitting for a while after getting wet will lead to rust and sticky brakes. Its not likely the brake master cylinder in my view.
You're not losing any fluid of any kind? That kinda removes the master cylinder.
It could be rusty parts, a stone stuck in the caliper. Does the hand brake work?
It can be adjusted with a procedure here- use the search feature for this issue.

Air compressor to clean away any dirt or debris. Maybe some Brake Kleen might help?
Brake hoses ok- no collapsed lines? You could take it to a shop- Midas or the like, lift it up
have them look it over for anything out of the norm. This will involve costs to you however.
Sketchy brakes are not something to take lightly imo. They might seem ok- but the issue
could return.

Let us know what happens next if anything pops up again. Your life depends on your
braking system working to the max- just say'n.

Thank you
If pulling up on the brake pedal improved the situation, I'm thinking more master cylinder (maybe even the pedal itself) than calipers. Reason for that thinking is that pulling up the brake pedal would not really do much to free a stuck caliper, but I guess it depends on how "stuck" it is. Calipers release more due to lack of hydraulic pressure, rather than hydraulic vacuum.

Is the power booster a possibility ? I can pull the pedal up and drive it. I guess there is no brake return spring.
This could be a master cylinder problem- maybe. Low pressure or no pressure.
By pulling up on the brake pedal- to sorta resolve the issue is of a concern.
I'm not sure about the brake pedal return spring - someone here will know better than me.

I had this same sort of issue with my 3000GT once. The clutch pedal would depress and
failed to come back to its normal place, forcing me to bring it back with my foot to engage
the pedal and the next gear change.

After refilling the slave cylinder with fluid which was low, the problem went away but returned.
Replacing the slave cylinder solved the problem, no stuck pedal or gear change.
The other thing it could be- I'm kinda spit balling here, throwing ideas out there see what sticks
is the proportioning valve might not be applying equal amounts of fluid to all four corners.

Looking into these parts- by a certified professional will produce results but could be
expensive. Do you really want a stuck brake pedal on the floorboards for it to work properly?
Does this problem happen only on cold start up- then works fine for the rest of your drive?
Does it happen continuously throughout your drive.? Happens one day, but not the next day?
Have you done anything to your braking systems lately? Fluid change or bleed them?

Quite impossible to diagnose just based on your experience so you really should have the entire braking system checked over. Could be deteriorating components in your master cylinder but if that's happening, what else is close to causing problems? If your brake fluid is original, it may be that it has absorbed enough water to start causing issues throughout the system.
