Lake Tahoe

link to: Lakeland Village Resort
800-822-5969 or 530-544-1685

3 Studio rooms with Fireplace & Kitchen $129 +tax/night
21 One bedroom suites with Fireplace & Kitchen $159 +tax/night
Compare with AAA rates for the same weekend:

$181.97 (suite AAA rate) versus group rate of $159
Mention "West Coast Kappa Car Club" [WCKCC] when you call to make your reservations.
Our reserved block of rooms will be held until May 23. After that, the unclaimed rooms will be returned to general availability.
Group rate deadline June 6! The group rate can still be had until 10 days before the event, if rooms are still available.
As of this writing, the resort had an availability of about 40 Suites, so you can get a group rate, even if you're not one of the first 20 to respond, but early booking is the best way to get the group rate.
Preliminary & Possible Events:
Cable Car grand opening at Squaw Valley (technically, they open on Friday June 16, but we'll be there on Sat June 17)

Pop in briefly at the Celtic Solstice Festival in Squaw Valley Saturday June 17 (open 2 to 7 pm)
4th Annual Celtic Solstice Celebration in the Village:
In celebration of the longest day of the year, enjoy FREE Celtic entertainment from 2 to 7 PM. Storytelling, harps, bagpipes and dancing. A benefit for the Boys & Girls Club.

Business meeting Saturday evening in the Sugar Pine room on the third floor of the main lodge.

Probable Itinerary:
Saturday morning around the lake going to the East, then North
Lunch in Truckee
Drive short distance to Valley
Cable car or Celtic Solstice Festival (maybe both)
Return around west side of lake
Business meeting Saturday night

May not have anything planned for Sunday morning except a breakfast--folks may want to start their trips home. (Please respond to the survey to help us gauge Sunday interest.)
Registration Forms:
We will have an event registration form available soon, but we wanted to get some of the details, and especially the lodging information out early.

Watch for the registration form.

I thought the Saturn Curve was beautiful--still do!
I was heartbroken that GM wasn't going to build the Curve...
Then I came to my senses and realized
I had wanted to drive a curvy roadster since I was a lad.

We hope to make it - that is the weekend after our last kid graduates from Cal Poly (paying tuition since '98 as two of our kids passed up perfectly good neighborhood Sac State to go to SLO). Anyhow, one would hope our Sky arrives prior to your event. Know we could attend without it but would be so much sweeter to come fully equipped!

Sory, won't be able to make it. I will be watching the World Cup on the tube.

I will be riding though when no games are on!:D
I should have my SKY by then (!) but I'll be in Yellowstone on a family vacation that weekend :nonod:

If I remember correctly, isn't another WCKCC meet scheduled for later on at Laguna Seca (Monterey)?
We have other events sheduled this year. Sorry you can't make it to the Tahoe meeting. Try to come to the Laguna Seca Cherry's Jubilee in Monterey. Sept.
Tahoe Update WCKCC

hope to see some SKY in Tahoe!

Hey folks, I just hopped over (& registered) from the Solstice forum (am a Reno, NV member/Sol owner)... & wanted to say that I'm really looking forward to seeing some SKYs at the June WCKCC event in Lake Tahoe!

(after reading a handful of threads... I noticed that there's a little bit of tension in the air between between some Sky & Solstice folks, but rest assured it's certainly not the majority... & almost everyone seems excited to meet their brother & sister Kappa owners!)

If you haven't checked out the links already - hop over & vote on June activities as well...

I'll be in the Deep blue NV Sol, handing out beers to the Sky bretheren... well, as many as I can fit in the trunk anyway. cya in June
Official Launch Club Website

Drum Roll .................

The West Coast Kappa Car Club has launched our official website.

We have been working hard developing the ground work for a strong viable club. You now can visit the site to view details of upcoming events, view pictures and videos of our past events, download event registration forms, download membership application forms, read the minutes of past events, become familiar with our bylaws, link to supporting vendors, link to the Sky and Solstice Forums, etc.

We are still developing the site. Eventually we will have member areas to vote on logo selections, upcoming event locations and agendas. A member bio area with galleries, and more.

We look forward to your participation in the club and our events. We have some great ideas in store for the future. We are open to your suggestions and input. This is YOUR club, and we want it to reflect what the membership wants.

Please view the site - Download the Registration form for out June 16,17,18 event for Lake Tahoe, (we will be adding a drive to Virginia City Sunday for brunch / register early to guarantee the group rates we have negotiated). Then download the Membership Application, (save on your registration fee).

We are working on other member benefits, (Vendor and other discounts, etc.)

Please help us promote our events and club. If you have been to one of our events or are already a member, that won't be hard. Thank you for your support.
