I put down my deposit last week for a new SKY. As I understand the process, this deposit merely gets me 5th in line for when the next image is available to this dealer. I actually put down the deposit with a dealer 100 miles north of here, as they are the largest Saturn dealership organization in the state of Wisconsin (they have 6 stores with large volume), so I hope that improves their SKY allocations. In any case, the dealer believes that mid to late August will be the projected delivery date.

I also put down a deposit with the local Saturn dealership in SE Wisconsin(they have four stores). Unfortunately, they said that I could not get a SKY until spring 2007, as their 2006 allocations are sold out. :banghead:

I don't know who to believe. Based on the posts in this forum, I think I should believe no one. Can any of the veteran posters on this forum provide any guidance?

In any case, I remain excited about eventually getting a SKY.

OK I won't get into fractions here...
10,000 SKYs to be built
500 dealers
If all were equal --- every dealer would get 20 cars
BUT
Warm weather states sell more convertibles (so they get more cars)
Big number sales get you more cars

So -- you are from WI and I am IL -- let's call it even weather wise and your Saturn Store let's say sells as many as the Store I go to does -- so they would get 10 cars (Usually multiple store owners are about even -- so if yours [like mine] owns 6 Stores he'd get 10 per store)
First image came up in Jan (I am basing this on 10 cars) 2 - Feb 2 - Mar 2 - Apr 2 - etc until they are gone. . .
So a smaller store, lets say got 5 cars -- so he'd image only 1 per month..

Sound OK??

If you want a car that bad there are other ways of getting one. I've seen a couple of people on here selling their cars. Plus there's ebay and I saw a leasing company in Canada that was selling a car. I believe we have set up a forum for members trying to sell their Skys. That forum is intended for non comercial sales.

Anything new on ebay will likely go over MSRP of course.

Aloha Golf....

First off...Saturn and GM don't get anything good out of bull$hiting you...So I don't believe they are pulling your leg...

It looks to be good information they are giving you...Saturn dealerships and the sales people are seriously fed up with the Sky at least what my dealership and sale people are saying to me and they are being honest.

They have customers calling them and coming in asking "Where is my sky?" "When is it going to be here?" Day after day after day! I think they wish GM and Saturn never made the Sky :willy:

This is a new time for Saturn and dealerships are not use to all this crazyness over one of their cars!

Try to chill out and give it some time...many of us have been waiting months and months for ours...It just isn't in GM's and Saturns best interest to be Bull crapping you and the rest of us.

As for not getting a sky until spring 2007...as you know many of the Skys (allocations) are sold already...If you get imaged "ALOHA" to you!

But if it comes to a point where you have lost all hope and it just doesn't seem like you're going to get your sky unless you wait until spring 2007 you still have a chance to get a dealership DEMO. It may have some miles on it but I wouldn't expect over 600. Hey, maybe somone will get sick of waiting allowing you to move up to be imaged...You never know bro...Just keep yourself informed like we've been doing on here...Knowledge is power.

So..."HANG IN THERE GOLF" if you're meant to get a Sky over the next 3 months or so it will happen...if not...it wasn't meant to be right now...

Waiting really does bother people, politly speaking of course, but the dealership is telling the truth. My dealer is sold out for the year, which means all their allocated Skys have been spoken for, but not bought yet. Put your name on a couple lists and ask the dealers to let you know if someone backs out as you might hook one, in a different color, but sooner than Fall.
