Looks like this section has been quiet for a while, as it seems the WCKCC has as well. That's changing (actually it started changing yesterday!).

On July 15, we had a short but sweet Lincoln Highway themed run from Lodi to Folsom, with 11 Kappas and a Camaro following a very small segment of the 3400 mile route. We toured the Folsom Power House, which brought hydroelectric energy from its generation point on a canal diverted from the American River, into Sacramento, for over 50 years. There was also some amazing ice cream to be had.

While we were having lunch, two newer members volunteered to join the board (including me), so we'll be giving some of the former officers a break to enjoy their cars more, and maybe bringing some new ideas (or at least finding the best of the old ones and repeating them).

There are three more runs scheduled in the near future (one a month for the next three months). We're planning a Tomales Bay run in mid-August, Lake Tahoe in September, and Potter Valley in October, with some others in the consideration phase.

Events and conversations happen on the WCKCC Facebook page. In case you don't like Facebook, I'll do my best to keep this board updated as well.

If you have questions about membership, events, stickers, etc, feel free to PM me here or on Facebook, or post either place and tag me so I see it.

The Tomales Bay run has been posted on Facebook.

https://www.facebook.com/events/498023463962212/

August 25 at 10am starting out in Novato.

WCKCC members can participate for free; visitors/non-members are $5/car and as as Barenaked Ladies might say, you'll have to sign a waiver. Bring an FRS radio if you have one, cash for lunch, and a full tank of gas!

Could be. I have heard of a San Diego Roadsters club, and we have at times had Southern California members/board reps, but I don’t know if there’s a connection.

We’d definitely welcome San Diegans (and Angelenos and anyone else on the west coast). Might even get a run going down that way (probably next year though, unless there’s a volunteer :) ).

Looks like they’re a GM Roadster Club chapter.

Membership - * * * *** "Saturn Sky & Pontiac Solstice"

I’ll poke around to see if there’s any other past or present connections. Relatively new to the club and definitely new to the board, so there’s a decade and change that I missed while driving my Ion :)

San Diego Roadsters will be having our 5th annual event (Palm Springs Run) on the 20-22nd of October. Just wanted to let you guys know you are all welcom. This is a free event, with between 25 and 30 Kappas. 250 mile trip thru the Inland Empire mountains. Unfortunately a lot of our mountains have burned, but the run is still on.

I will be posting on it in the next couple of weeks. I am trying to include a local car cruise night on the 20th, an overnight in Palm Desert and a run up 74 and down to Hemet for Sunday morning breakfast. We provide free tee shirts and have a pretty good sized product give away, done thru our Poker Run. I should have everything together in a couple of weeks and will post in this section of the forum

Please let me know when you to your Tahoe Run. I live in NV about 30 min from South Lake Tahoe and would love to come up and join it for a little bit.

Quick update, and I just posted a new discussion with more details.

Our treasurer Jena and I, and our co-pilots, joined the San Diego club for Palm Springs last month. 1000+ miles but lots of fun.

We have what I called the "Pebbles and Rocky" run scheduled for Saturday, November 17, 2018. https://www.skyroadster.com/forums/f33/bay-area-coastal-run-94563/

Three hours or so of road time from Redwood City/Woodside through Half Moon Bay to just north of Big Sur.

No events planned for December, but there's a club holiday party in the works in January.

We now have a current and occasionally-maintained website outside of Facebook: westcoastkappacar.club (maintained by myself), and our Facebook page is still actively updated as well.

Yeah, Myrna even used to be on the WCKCC board. I don't think we've had SoCal members for a couple of years, although anyone on the planet is welcome to join. :)

Right now we are slowly spreading southward again (almost half of the cars in our November 17 run are from south of the San Mateo Bridge), so maybe we'll start spreading out again.

And be sure to keep an eye out for the Solvang run that Jena and Myrna are working on for next spring!
