Welcome to the forum.

Several people have changed their turbos, and a forum or Google search will find you quite a few discussions about them.

I can tell you customer service from Werks is fantastic. I have their WR-4 turbo on my 2.4 build.

Have you been happy with the performance of the upgrade? They are saying with the package for my 2.0 we will get over 400 whp.? Sounds like the car would be a rocket.

Be aware that while they have always labelled their various turbo options WR1, 2 or 3, the specific turbos they have supplied have sometimes changed so a WR2 bought 10 years ago may not be the same spec as one bought last month

I have been happy so far but I am far from done getting my tune right for my setup.

Remember too I am a 2.4 car...not a 2.0 turbo car. So I was running the K04 on a 2.4 on 14 psi of boost and now I'm going to a fully built 2.4 with lower compression, the larger turbo, and will be pushing a lot more air. So for me it's going to be a huge change all the way around.

Sounds like it! Who’s doing your work for you? Or are you building it yourself?

Do you mean lots of power off the line?
He means when I first got the car me and curbs had a love hate relationship...they loved me and I hated them. LOL I have an early build 2007 NA which means I have no traction control. Zero. My right foot is all the control I have and with just about doubling the power output I had with my last turbo setup (and over 3.5 times what I had stock) he doesn't want me finding more curbs. LOL

Performance Auto Werks (PAW) built the short block and provided things like the turbo and injectors. My fuel system is a self made system based off DDM's center feed fuel rail for the 2.4 modified to be part of a boost reference return style fuel system. Intercooler is from Hahn Turbocraft and is their intercooler for the 2.0T LNF Redline/GXP cars. RPM motorsports did the original tune when I had their big wheel K04 turbo on the car but I wanted...and always planned on going with a bigger turbo someday. J&J machining out of Ridgecrest, CA did the head work ordering +1mm intake and exhaust valves from Ferrea valves and used Performance Auto Werks valve springs and titanium retainers on the head. I assembled he head to the block and installed all new cams, lifters, rockers, and timing chain (water pump and balance shaft deletes were done when the block was built by PAW). Then a mechanic friend at Pass Auto in Banning installed the engine into the car for me and helped me get it fired up.

Now I'm working with PAW in tuning the car. We think we may have a vac leak somewhere so I have a smoke tester on the way (and figured out why my compressor was being a pill...bad hose) to sniff out any leaks in the system before we continue working on the tune. I have a feeling I'm going to have to go in and tighten up the turbo nuts as they will loosen up after a couple heat cycles when you install a new turbo. So it's a combination of me working on it and then a lot of help from folks who really know what they're doing.

Lol Curbs LOL, it’s kind of funny. I’m surprised they were built with no traction control in the first place??

Only the 2.4s, the Redlines and GXPs always had it standard. Early build 2007 2.4s had no TC and LSDs were optional. I believe in 2007 they made it optional and then in either 2008 or 2009 they made it standard on all Kappas.

I like not having it. :D
