What did you do to your Sky today?

I picked up a 2007 Sky with 14,000 miles. It has a Hahn turbo and K1S single exhaust. I've been sorting it out as most used cars can be neglected. I changed just about all the fluids - transmission, differential, brake/clutch, and power steering fluids. The turbo was leaking oil so it got new bearings and O-rings.

The car came with a chrome stubby antenna that was not the best when out of the metro areas so I got a 31" from Autozone.

The stock tires tread was was twice the height of the wear bars and hard as a hockey puck in the rain. With snow season right around the corner the Pilot Alpin snow tires went on the chrome wheels. Also picked up a set of B&G lowering springs and will have it aligned this week after about 500 miles of settling.

I bought a GM tonneau cover for it and have it stretched out in the spare bedroom. That'll go in the spring.

Currently plumming coolant to the turbo and will relocate the power steering pump away from the turbo heat.

But I have to have it so I can put it all back together for the last couple of top down days!

Good for you and glad that turned out to be legit. I saw that post, but thought it smelled fishy. New member, absurdly low price, hard to find item, wrong year in the listing. etc. There's just been so many scammers in the listings as of late.
I thought it was too good to be true also, but thought I’d take a shot and see what happened. Turned out it wasn’t- got the set plus caps and lugs.
He put chrome wheels on his-liked them better.
Sold his car and new owner didn’t want them so he just put them away and forgot about them. He’s moving, so he threw them on here.
I messaged him and called immediately.
Great car guy. Straight up from the get go.
I was just lucky my friend was in Florida and touched base with him right after we talked. He drove couple hours over and picked them up this morning. Been looking for a set but never thought I’d find any.
Talk about luck

Another Lighting Project (Phase 1)

So, I ordered one of those scanning hood lights, installed it then thought, this might be even better on the back! I'm doing this in baby steps. Eventually the LED below my WindRestrictor will be half brightness until the brake pedal is pressed then will go bright and the LED on back will do its scanning number day or night. I'm about halfway there.

That looks great!!! May need to do something similar. These cars seem invisible sometimes.

Links to the ones you purchased? Any tips or troubles installing them?

And done! Thanks to JohnWR for his help sorting out a circuit to control rear end lighting that had me stumped for awhile.
Here are links to the turn signal and trunk led strips.

Signal: https://amzn.to/42SDHkF
Trunk: https://amzn.to/3FB49Fs
Hood: 1Pc Start Scan Dynamic 1M LED DRL Car Hood Light Strip Daytime Running Light | eBay

All connect easily to the car, you just have to decide on a power source for the larger strips. The turn signal strips connect to ground, switched power (fuse box) and each of the turn signals (light and dark blue wires).

Thank for the links and info! Wondering if that rear light can be incorporated as a brake light...

I believe that is what he did.

I thought it was tied to running/parking Lights????

It is tied to both, I think. The running lights at half brightness, then the turn/brake at full, although it doesn't really look that way in the video.

The strip (which isn't dimmable) can tap into brakes or running lights (brown or blue wire in the trunk harness) or (in my case) both so it's a brake light when other lighting is off or a running light when they're on. The latter got way too complicated and I wouldn't recommend it.

Gotcha. I assume John had input on that so when both are hot only one is providing power? Just using diodes wouldn't work. Assuming there is a k0ind of relay in that setup.

Yea in the video I could see it was working with both but brightness seemed consistent...

I saw your comment about the Wind restrictor and jumped to the wrong conclusion. Sorry you couldn't get the light bar to dim.
Yesterday afternoon (4/12/23) I removed all the mothballs and fabric softner soaked rags in trays, hooked up the battery, and our Sky started up like it was last started the day before.

Boy, the car sure gets dirty from being parked under the tent during Chicago area winters with lts of airbourne dusty dirt. It's time for a good cleaning.

I aired out the car, but not enough to get rid of all the mothball and fabric softener smells. At least they work well at keeping the rodents away. My glue traps inside were rodent-free, and no poop droppings found under the hood.

Very nice! Thanks for creating the video and taking us along for the ride. I know what'll I'll be doing this weekend!

Your most welcome. I had fun on that Run. The permagrin was with me!
I don't do- those U-Tube Runs of mine for the likes, subscriptions or comments.
Mostly about the car in action on the asphalt. Plus my grandkids get a kick out of it.

There is a back story here about this Run- I changed the route taken the morning of.
I had planned on going westbound- but the east bound and down looked more entertaining.
IT was. Really fun- I'm gonna have to go back -with new tires on my RL.

The right day- weatherwise, the right road, and our gem can and will bring enjoyment to your
inner soul. Exploring the unknown- has benefits. You only live once. The worst thing you can do
with a sportscar like ours- is not driving it enough before they take away your license for good.

I have a few other backroad adventure Runs planned. During the winter time- it pays to research
entertainment value for yourself. I am planning on doing a Cars & Caffeine local show on the first
Sunday in May. Of coarse I'm gonna film it too. My annual across the state Run- Mountains to the
Shore is also on the docket for May- Stay tuned for those. Some great backroads in this area.
Visit the site- LAC Films on U-Tube. 50 more videos to enjoy.

Flim what you do with our gem- in the garage, custom additions- major modifications, a lazy
Sunday afternoon drive in the countryside or track/autocross. It's all good for our community.
We like photos and videos about our model. Plus- the attention factor the model draws from
the unsuspecting masses who have no clue about the model- it's always fun to see their reactions
when you tell them- It's a Saturn. No it's not- Saturn didn't make a sports car.
Ok it's not a Saturn then....

Yesterday was a good day. Replaced the MAP sensors, and pushed the GMPP tune via HPT, and then took the car for a spin for first time since February, the 2nd time since December. Top down too! LOVE the difference the tune makes! Looking forward to tweaking a bit more. Car still drives like new (~38K miles on it)

On the downside, when I got back into the garage, I noticed that the speedometer backlight was flickering - one of the LEDs I installed acting up! Grrrr.... Luckily, dash is still half apart so not too much work to extract but now I have to recalibrate the dials putting it back it. Pain!!
