Where oh where can it be?!?!

In light of having no updates in a VERY LONG time, I've decided to vent my frustrations in hopes that by doing this something will miraculously happen and my car will show up!

My SKY was built 4/27 - now 5 weeks ago. And I have nothing to show for it. No invoice, no shipping information, nothing! I am calling my dealership weekly only to get the same answer: "no news yet".

I finally got my order number last week and have tried the 800 number twice- but they couldn't/wouldn't help. The last girl I spoke with took my name & info to at least document the call because apparently they're keeping track of how many calls they get like mine.

So I know everyone says to just keep waiting patiently, but it's wearing thin... Everyone I know keeps bugging me if I have any news, and that just makes it worse...

I seriously am going crazy because first I said I hope to have my SKY mid May (8 weeks after image), then I said I better have it by June 1st. Well here we go again and now I'm relying on getting it in June or I will really lose my mind!!

It's just a very frustrating process especially knowing that SKY's that were built after mine are already delivered!! :banghead: No offense at all for any of you owners, I'm very happy for you!! But this is just one messed up process!!!!

Thanks for allowing me to vent - I certainly hope something happens soon with my SKY... :willy:

Vent away....

I had very little information (almost none) from my salesman after I was imaged until the car showed up.

I got a call on May 22 saying he believed the car was built the previous week, so that we should see it in about 3 weeks (their typical delivery time). Perfect for me, as I was about to leave that Wednesday the 24th for almost a month on the road with only a day or two at home here and there.

Well, on Wednesday morning (May 24) I got a call saying it just came off the truck, and would I like to get it today! I quickly changed my flight to the next day and got everthing ready to pick it up that day. Well worth it.

So sometimes no news can be good news. Be patient, it will come.... Mine was 2 months from Image to Delivery.

All the pain of waiting will dissappear instantly as soon as you see your new car all prepped at the dealer, waiting for you to take it home!

You are right in wanting to vent! This whole saturn buying process is very inconsistant. Some dealers know the process and do all they can to help you along, and others know absolutely nothing, and don't even seem to care!
I realize the Sky has been a big success, and may have overwhelmed Saturn, but now we are hearing less and less about the latest development and to where we stand in receiving our orders. The forum people have been super, but the dealerships know less ever.:brentil:

Dear Saturn,
The above situtation is unacceptable. I simply do not understand. How can this wonderful new line of cars help your company or your market standing if you allow this misinformation and no information policy to pass as the official persona of Saturn? This is the face you present to newcomers and no amount of marketing dollars spent will undo this image once imprinted. What about those of us who long to believe and pronounce that a U.S. Manufacturer is willing and able and WILL do what it takes to GET BACK in the game. To make us proud of our car industry again.

What are you thinking? Are you thinking? This site gets hit more times by a more concentrated target audience than any other medium I could imagine. (duh) You would pay big bucks for this target audience in NY...and probably have spent a fortune to figure out who we are and how to reach us...and here we are! Yet, you learn nothing and fail to utilize it to your advantage. It is UNAMERICAN...it is bad business. If I were queen for a day, your entire marketing division would be fired and there would be communication between the marketing department and the manufacturing sector of my company. Your dealers would be informed and it would be a standard to be met. Get with the program. There is a reason the Japanese cars gained an edge and it had every thing to do with paying attention and being responsive to the consumer. Japan's manufacturing persona came from America, it is called, "Yes we can" rather than "We don't have to". Why have we lost this here? Baby: The fashionable slouch.."this is the way we do it," " us against the customer," "silly customer -- what a pain --- doesn't know what is good for him" won't cut it with middle class, able-to-pay car buyers. We will go somewhere where our money is appreciated and our loyalty and love for a little roadster is appreciated. The message has been sent loud and clear to clean up your act...and yet you all, in the midst of a barely-affordable-for-you, on the brink of disaster, great product launch, you are blowing it on the small, details! And they are the very details that matter. Get this woman some information about her car ! Good heavens! This is America, we can track a pimple on zebra's booty by satellite...why can't we get the story on a damned teeny bitty roadster? Corporate America needs to do better, be better, not just throw a swim suit model on a bill board with a sexy car and declare it so. Back it up Saturn, manage the devils in the Details!
A customer who wants to be loyal to a company who cares about its work!

Glass Half Full

I see a lot of people upset about the Saturn order processes not being the same from dealer to dealer. I look at it this way! I have a job there are some people out there that don't have a job. I have a house. There are people out there that have no home. I have a family that loves me. Some people don't have any family. I have a order in for a car I hope will be here in the next few months. Some people cant even drive let Alon buy a car like this. GLASS HALF FULL!

Eloquently written and absolutely true
(and I have no faith whatsoever that anyone at Corporate Saturn or GM gives a damn!)
The system is the system at GM period. Saturn is still in the transition to GM Ordering system, dealers are still learning the operation of it. Tracking is different now, maybe not better, but that is just how it is. Be patient, I know it is hard, but GM isn't going to instigate any changes, it has worked for other branches, so it should work for Saturn. You must remember, Saturn was not there big money maker for years, and now with the SKY, SKY R/L. AURA, Outlook and the money invested to bring Saturn around, it has arrived in the big leagues!!!!! Good or bad, it is just how it is. Look at my order, it was caught in the beginning of the transition, when the old Saturn Ordering System was being phased out and the new GM System being installed. Talk about left in the dark!! I think you all know the rest.
SkyPup,,, you in Bloomington, or Peoria?
East Peoria
just a keep a hanging...and then bling it's here. I happened to e-mail my salesman yesterday and yeppers he didn't call, but my car will be here this week-end. He said two were due in and I said noppers three are due in...
He said geeze how do you always know more about the sky than I do, yep three coming in...

Nobody has a sense of ha ha anymore. I do have everything that I need in life; a beautiful house, a good job, an amazing wife and great kids and I sympathize with those who dont but c'mon this is a forum about a car. If I wanted to better myself I surely would not be looking for advise from people who spend their days sitting in front of the computer. You know, to some extent I do agree with your GLASS HALF FULL theory, I hate an empty beer mug.

BTW CAPS MEAN I'M YELLING

OK I am done rambling on now and my car is coming today so time to go. I'll be sure and check for your ranting 6 months from now when your still waiting for your Sky.
