The old brochure states that our engine is 170HP...the new one states 177HP. Which is it?

Hey Mike my dealer stated to me that it is in fact 177 as the Sol is as well/
Chloe...thank you for the clarification...guess u don't have to install a CAI if u actually got the extra 7 HP...another 400 dollar savings.......I just noticed something...this is my 177th Post....does that mean anything? It was meant to be.
Just like the Solstice, the number was revised some time ago.
THis is the same engine (2.4 liter) that is in the Cobalt SS (non-SC).

LOL marlboromike! a double funny post!
Pre-production?

The 170 was probably a pre-production number and the 177 using a setup closer to what is shipping.

Also, I suspect that if you were to take the exact same vehicle to the dyno on 7 consecutive days you would get 7 slightly different results as a result of differences is things like air temperature, tire pressure, etc. without more info about the setup of the test, number of miles on the engine, etc and whether it is based on a single run or an average of multiple runs, it would be really hard to say exaclty how much hp your car will deliver over its life span.
