I've just tagged a Midnight Blue Sky. I'm keeping my Equinox
for winter. As a single woman in this economy, I feel forturnate
to be able to do this!

Bumping an old thread!

It's our third car... I traded my '02 Camaro SS in on a Tacoma back in '11 because there's no such thing as cheap low mileage 4x4 truck always knowing that I would pick up something fun down the road...

I honestly never expected to end up in a black with black/red interior turbo four cylinder, but I test drove the new camaro and honestly wasn't that impressed. Not going to bash it because I love the looks and hope people keep buying them to keep the GM performance group healthy, but the car wasn't for me.

As I looked I to it more, the performance and capabilities of the kappa platform really impressed me considering that with a simple GMPP upgrade this roadster would dust my '02 SS. I love the fact that these aren't ubiquitous and how much they put the Japanese rivals to shame in daily driving usable torque...

So that's my story on how I ended up here!

My aunt gave me an MGB back in the early 90's. It was a second car when the thought of having a second car never occurred to me. Since then, I've been hooked on 2-seaters. The MGB was underpowered, leaked rain, not up to current crash standards, there was no AC, the heater barely worked but it was a lot of fun. I gave it up for a Fiero and a Mustang GT convertible. The Mustang convertible left after I bought a 2010 Equinox. The Equinox left after the wife bought a family friendly car (and the kids moved out). This all opened me up for a powerful 2-seater convertible wit modern features. Thus I have a 2008 Sky RL. I still have the 88 Fiero GT (3.4 pr conversion), my 94 S-10 SS, and my 53 F100. I plan on retiring soon, and I'll have to get rid of something, so, I'll probably put the Fiero and F100 up for sale and see which one sells first. Then I'll keep the other one until it's no longer financially viable. So, somehow I got up to 4 vehicles (down from 6 at one time), and I'll soon be heading back to 2 with the 94 S10 being my DD.

I know this is a Sky forum, but would love to see a picture of the F100.

I like the Fiero's but they're just too aged at this point to be any sort of a 3-4 day per week driver (weather permitting). I see Kappa as the modern day Fiero with the improved reliability and construction that three decades affords; will I get flamed for that here?!

Summer car

My Sky is my summer toy, I also have a 2010 Dodge Journey R/T AWD. Where I live in Canada in winter we have large amounts of snow and it can be very cold, so the Sky is safely tucked away in my garage come late October or early November and don't take it out till late March or early April. The AWD in the Journey is much better in the snow in the winter.

I drive my Sky throughout the summer as much as I can, I use my Journey everyday to take the dog out in the country, picking up groceries or larger items, or going out to my cottage, which the last 5 miles is on gravel.

Ours will only be driven for fun. It has very low mileage, and is near mint condition in every aspect. We have a Volt, an FJ Cruiser and GMC Sierra Dually. I also have an 87 Nissan Pathfinder that is in very good shape, but seldom drive it. A Ford Van that has been in the repair shop for as long as I can remember, and a 64 MGB, that is in parts and needs a home. Floors too far gone for what I had planned. Bought the Sky to replace the project.

My Sky with 103,000 miles is no longer my daily driver I have a Ford Edge Limited (my work horse) and last summer I picked up a 2005 Corvette w/ Z51 package and 25k miles which I said I wouldn't turn into a show car.... but I can't help my self... already put $3,500 worth of mods in it.

Hydro sits next to my Bi-plane

In the half of the barn that is the hanger.
2014 Toyota 4-runner is the workhorse & an Outlander Sport for local running around. Keep a Sidekick up at the cabin. If all else fails, I suppose I could drive my diesel Mahindra tractor to town:)
