Hey Everyone, does this style of wind deflector actually fit? I noticed the trunk seals pretty close to the silver painted bar behind the seats. I definitely don't want to be installing/removing this thing every time I adjust the top.

That's popular style that some seem to prefer and it does fit but could be tight. However, I prefer the one that fits on the other side of the tulip panel behind the head restraints. No issue will the trunk seal with that method. Wind Restrictor make a good one!

I have one of those but they suggest you remove it when putting the top up.maybe to prevent damage the the defrost wires on the rear window? It's no big deal to remove it and put it in really.Maybe the ones that fit inside are better but I'm not sure how they attach.

That version will make the trunk a tight fit, and will rub against the inside of rear window when the top is up. Windrestrictor version II installs in front of the silver panel and eliminates both problems.

How does the Windrestictor attach behind the seats do you have to drill or velcro strips?

Don’t think the wind screen between the rear of the tulip panel and trunk necessarily rubs on the back window. Probably more the exception than the rule. Mine has been on for years, quite a bit of space between the two panels. Perhaps vehicle and wind screen specific.

I have had both types, the original like the one posted on the Mallett. I did hear a vibration with it hitting the rear window, but did not feel it actually rubbed I think the later version is a better investment, plus they offer so much more with it now. Great company and has supported this site and the National event for a long time.

Here is the solution to Version 1...just put a small round plastic... stick on your rear defroster window...no one sees it and it prevents your defroster window from hitting your windscreen. TA DA! It is those small bumpers that are on your kitchen or bathroom cabinet doors.

That's the one I have as well, attaches with industrial strength velcro.. I originally bought the rear mount version and did not like how it fit and the difficulty in closing the trunk.
